Is everyone lying about having sleep paralysis? - Because I think they are

I've experienced it before. Last time I had it was during university. I didn't see anything as my eyes were shut during the paralysis. It usually would happen in the middle of waking up or falling asleep. I would feel something blowing on my face, I don't think I heard anything. It was horrifying nonetheless. I just assumed it was my body freaking out about being conscious during a sleep phase. IDFK.

I've unironically had sleep paralysis a few times.
It's shit. It's hard to breathe. It's easy to go into panic mode. It takes every bit of will you have to move a single muscle. But once you do move that muscle it goes away apart from lingering effects from the panic.

My suggestion, if it does happen, is to try to curl your toes. It's difficult but easier than trying to move anything else and once you do it you'll shoot right out of bed and maybe fall on the floor (happened to me once).
