Is Google slowly dropping Google home?

Lately I'm I'm finding that I'm getting more and more frustrated about Google not properly supporting things in the Google home app where it's not where it's not turning things on properly or it's not doing things or it's not listening properly when you yelled to Google homes, and looking online it sounds like these are consistent problems that been going on for years with no signs of being dealt with. So now I just looked online and I got a used Amazon Echo dot for dirt cheap and I'm going to try that because it seems like Amazon at least is trying to make sure the platform works properly. Google has a long history of dropping products out for no logical reason and it's starting to seem to me that there may be planning to drop Google home soon.

Also I'll recognize that many of you may be having strong opinions about buying wiretaps for your home but I will be ignoring those opinions. Hard indisputable facts I may consider.

Are these devices actual Google products or third-party Chinese crap? I've heard somewhere that a bunch of these chinese products don't work anymore because they are not compatible with the latest version of the software that Google uses.

Smart home stuff is so awful.
From planned obsolescence to being three letter agency spyware - I just won't have that bullshit in my house. Doubly with Google, who likes to abandon their shit on the fly and leave the users hanging.
Ain't nobody hacking my thermostat.

Edit> It is very tempting though, to get something, change it's name to "nigger" and just yell at Nigger to turn my lights on when I get home. The neighbors might get upset, however.

These bulbs are tp-link kasa. We're slowly phasing out the Chinese crap, just have a couple smart plugs left.

You yell at it and it turns your lights on.
Back in the 1980s we could turn lights on and off without computers or internet by using The Clapper:
They still make them, so if you get tired of your current setup head over to your local drugstore and pick one up.

The answer to any "Is Google slowly dropping _____?" question is always yes. If not now, then within two years.
The site killedbygoogle.com does a good job of tracking all their abandoned products.

Google has been dropping support for a bunch of stuff that uses older Nest protocols for a while now.

But I'm dummy thicc, so the clap of my asscheeks could result in the lights rapidly turning on and off everytime I enter/walk around the room
