Is Humble Monthly worth it? - It's like a lootbox but with vidya

Hello again. My query today is, as the title says, the worth of the Humble Bundle. When I say 'Humble Bundle' I'm referring to the monthly twelve dollar bundle of games they have. I'm kinda on the fence of adding another twelve bucks to my monthly expenditures, to the Kiwis that are subscribed or have subscribed in the past would you consider it a good deal or would you advise against it?

I love it personally. especially since they tend to put newer games in there a lot. Haven't bought that many games since starting it, and if you get games you don't want you can gift them to your friends.

Personally I didn't find it worth it. Some months you'll luck out and get a game worth the $12, but realistically the "$100 value" is a bunch of shovelware garbage that you'll never even install or games that, while not bad at all, just don't interest you.

If your gaming style is to play any game for the experience of playing it, or you have extremely diverse tastes, I would say it is going to be worth it and you won't regret it. If you are more selective about your vidya or you are intent on gaming "efficiently" by spending time on games that you know you will enjoy, I would steer clear.

I've got kids, so I fall into the latter category. I don't really have time to spend hours sifting through games that I may or may not enjoy. If you enjoy experimenting and maybe finding things you might like but would've never given the chance otherwise, I say shell out the $12 for a couple months to try it out.

A lot of stuff I see in those Humble Bundle loot boxes is stuff I see for free or a couple of bucks a few months later. It's not worth it.

Most of their lineup will always push the most expensive and wanted games that released sometimes just a few months ago. If the "reveal" games are something you already have, chances are the rest aren't anything to write home about all that often. It will also on occasion peddle expensive dead stuff that nobody wants, like next month's The Division.

If you mix up buying games from sale and buying games full-price when they're good enough, it's not that great. If you hold off on buying games in general until you get a good deal and like all kinds of genres, it's totally worth it. They also make for some pretty sweet gifts for friends when you have extra codes for some bigger titles. You pretty much have to be someone who can name a game from every genre that you like to find the Monthly any good.

Too me its hit or miss I say about 70% of the bundles has at least one game worth it to me. Its nice they have a lot of newer AAA games on it more often then not.

I would say get it of you are able to enjoy a large variety of game genres or atleast willing to try something new. If you only like a set few genres or dont like playing games out of your comfort zone then dont

Also the DRM-Free troves you get access to is a nice perk

I remember jumping on every Humble Bundle when they first came out. I'd estimate 95% of the games I got in them I never fucking played, and 4% I played for less time than it took to download them. Don't know what's changed since then.

In my experience the 3 reveal games are the draw, the rest is usually indie filler. I never sub unless I want one of the reveal games and then I cancel it until I see another one I want.

Objectively it's worth it, especially if you want to build up a library, but most of us have more games than we could possibly play anyway.

I also have a feeling humble monthly killed the actual humble bundles. I can't think of the last time there was a decent one.
