Depends on if your friend is okay with you saying it.
In an ideal world he can call me cracker or whitey and I can call him nigger and blackie in the same way friends call each other assholes, etc.
Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal world. So just straight up ask him he's chill with it. In my experience most don't mind as long as the use of it clearly a joke.
Really though, you should call your friends any names sparingly. Everynow and then is just shit talk. But you don't want to accidentally say something at the wrong time that you meant to be harmless and cause a huge shit storm—I've gotten in so many IRL fights this way that it's not even funny.
Granted, your probably get caught up in shit like that anyway but at least you weren't the one to set things off.

Start calling him "spic", keep doing that for a week or 2, then change to "wetback", then to "filthy Jew".
Basically, call him every slur that doesn't apply to his race, that will lower his defenses.
When you run out of slurs, call him a "nigger" and chances are he will be desensitized by the time you do.
