Is it really that bad if you just get drunk once a week?

Start drinking on monday, don't stop till sunday. Once a week, viola!
Back when I was an active alcoholic my wife would nag me and say “why cant you just have one glass?” Then one day I was at an estate sale and I found a wine glass that would fit a whole bottle of wine. You better believe I started using it.

I've seen- the man, use the bottle!
(seen the bottle use the man!)

I've seen them crawl to the cradle!
(to the gutter on their knees!)

They fight, a war, but it's FATAL!
(It's so hard to understand!)

I've seen- MYSELF use the bottle!
seen the bottle IN MY HAND!

(Seriously OP- Don't you even fucking think about it. Addiction is satanic slavery that robs you of your agency- and playing life on Insane difficulty. Life sober is hard enough. 2 and a half years sober as of writing.)

It depends on how "drunk" you get.
If it's a bit above tipsy where you start singing war songs and rambling about jews, then it's probably not great for your health but your body can handle it if you're healthy.
If it's absolutely plastered to the point of nearing passing out, having memory loss, etc, then it's terrible for you and will probably damage your body.

In general, alcohol is very hard on the body, several organs get very negatively impacted, it's an overall poison. A lot of drugs are a lot less damaging to the body for an equal amount of altered state.
For example when I have the choice I absolutely take GHB over alcohol. It's still a GABAergic so the effects aren't too dissimilar (without the bodily load of alcohol), and it's a lot safer for the body.

Probably not but I find getting drunk just makes me get sick and leads to bad sex. But two or three drinks, I'm good.

Depending on how much you drink that one day, it's not that big a deal in the long term. If you're drinking a liter+ of hard liquor it's going to be a problem, but if you're getting drunk off a handful of beers, you're probably fine.

I'd personally say "just don't drink", but that's coming from experience. Booze is widely available and completely legal, which makes it a fuck ton more dangerous than a lot of drugs when it comes to getting hooked. It's a very easy addiction to fall into, but a very  very hard one to climb back out of.

No, especially if you're on the younger side. Hopefully it's more so social drinking which is definitely normal.
Moderate your drinking . Problems signs will be when you start drinking alone, drink before 5PM and obviously binging.
Even if you're level headed once a week can definitely spiral into alcoholism and it will happen without you really noticing.
Family History of alcoholism increases those chances exponentially. I picked up a nasty drinking habit from College, still working through it but it's much, much, much better.

If you drink pussy drinks like beer and wine, yes, it is bad. Beer makes you fat, wine makes you gay. If you drink a man's drink like vodka or whiskey, then it's fine.
In fact I've been kind of sort of cutting back by exclusively drinking beer and wine, which being fat and gay I do already like.
What I've been doing is I figured out to be content with a bottle of white wine, sometimes a pint and a half to tide me over. Bottle of white wine is enough to feel drunk but it isn't, by government reckoning anyways, a binge, and it doesn't make a person feel so bad afterwards. Get that drinking down.

A bottle of wine or a pint and a half once a week isn't much. If it's an every day thing, then it's a concern.

life sucks ass. i'll get drunk whenever i want, however often i want, as long as i don't have to work, drive, or be responsible for children in the time it takes to get sober
