Improvements in prenatal screening and abortion will probably eventually eradicate most speds, like what happened with Down syndrome in Iceland. Conditions like autism are hard to determine genetically but in time people may work it out and offer parents the choice. This isn't about eugenics as much as relieving the parents who have to care for Chris or some other fat screeching manchild for the rest of their lives. They suffer far more than any of us do paying taxes for them. There's also an element of mercy in that I really doubt most autistics enjoy their lives much. Chris seems to but that's only because he's lost in his dimensional merge delusions; once Barb dies he may end up in a very bad state.
