Is nostalgia poisonous?

If this were any other time, I'd say you shouldn't get sucked into nostalgia and let that be your life and personality. BUT, we no longer have a future, so, by all means, live in the past. This is the one time in your life where it will ever be okay. Put on your Batman underoos, grab a bowl of Oreo O's, and watch Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog at 3 in the morning. It's what we've all earned for putting up with three consecutive recessions with no significant upturn, and a world war on the horizon. We're all fucked, and the best case scenario is a worse tomorrow than our today. Be a hedonist. It won't fulfill you, but who fucking cares anymore.

For me, I just bought a Sharp Twin Famicom, and I'm upgrading a bunch of components on the mainboard to see what extra power I can squeeze out of it for a programming exercise (Running the Commodore 64 Kernal, Machine Code assembler, and BASIC). This isn't even my nostalgia, that belongs to some Asian man working tirelessly for a job that will never appreciate him, but I'll borrow it because it's fun. A nice 1984-era, 'What If?' scenario.

Nostalgia is about finding a healthy balance in remembering the past.
You shouldn't become obsesive with the past to the point of feeling depressed about your present day situation but you shouldn't be anti-nostalgic either.
What would you guys say about the opposite in which the nostalgic content isn't that good? I was going through old content that I find nostalgic only to find out that what i found nostalgic is no different to the libtard jorunalists of today, just less obvious.

Ignoring the past is to ignore what made the present. Forgetting the past makes you less informed for the future. Maybe if the past informs you that the present sucks, that shouldn't be ignored.
Appreciate the past, but don't let it make you forget the present or the future.

We wouldn't be where we are today if it wasn't for the actions of the past. Always keep that in mind as well.
