It's a dish designed by absolutely retarded peasant women 200 years ago. It's meant to be a functional way to re-use scraps made from competent dishes and, look, I'm not one to give a stink eye to the old ways. Sometimes you don't have to reinvent the wheel here and there's some wisdom in older things but let's face it, a lot of people have been gaslit into thinking this is a good idea and it's just not. The textures are too multivariate, the tastes don't blend well together and look not for nothing but it's a white person food invention. We are known for doing a lot of great things but food is not one of those things, especially out of that part of the world. Everything the British/Irish/Scottish make tastes like depression.
