Is speedrunning similar to gambling?

Gambling releases a lot more dopamine than video games making it more addictive. Compare DSP to Bossmanjack notice how Phil is much less volatile, that’s because losing in a video game doesn’t crash your dopamine levels as hard.

helps to be a drug addict too for max dopamine.
 
Completely depends on what game and the type of speedrun. If you are doing some game that requires a high degree of luck, then sure it could be similar.
