Uhh... I'm pretty sure the WORST thing about tankies is how they want to use tanks to run over everyone, even other communists, who doesn't ideologically adhere to the exact same orthodoxy that they seek to impose on the rest of society.

I think that's a little unfair. They're just opposed to letting people engage in open armed insurrection against a revolutionary government.

I am not aware of there being ideologies which are supportive of allowing open armed insurrection against them.

There's an argument to be made there, there's also an argument that they were simply supporting their ideological comrades in the countries that were invaded.

Few people who strongly believe in a concept would reject aid from outsiders in advancing it over others.
