The only way is to create a shadow internet, like how Dissenter lets people comment on anything and how I2P is a separate "internet" using existing connections.

One important point, the worst possible outcome is when all goverments of the world get on the same page and start playing nice with each other. I don't think that's likely to happen thanks to nationalism and egos of the rulers. Until that happens, you can publish things on Russian servers and not worry about US based firms trying to block you, or publish anti-Putin rants on US based servers.

I don't think anything will happen about censorship unless people end up with more to gain from fighting back than they stand to lose. Voting for different politicians won't do anything, because they're all heads of the same monster. None of them actually care about the peasants, they just pretend to, to keep the votes coming in. At the end of the day, the only reason the government does anything to help the people is because if they don't the people might get mad and start killing people working for the government. Sometimes you have to remind them of that.

The only real way to stop it is by holding politicians accountable, the problem is in most western countries you can no longer hold them accountable via legislative methods. Even ways to bypass it will be came after sooner or later, so it really does come back to violence. It just depends how bad it will get before the pushback from the common people fight back or if they will become complacent.

No, it's pretty much impossible to stop it now. Every single political demographic has reasons or flaws that prevent them from doing anything productive.
Authoritarian left wants it to happen because it's in their favor, at least for now. Someday they'll eat themselves.
Authoritarian right are literally inbred nazi scum and nihilist edgelords whose only purpose in life is to give the authoritarian left a boogeyman to justify their censorship, as seen in the consequences of NZ. They also have a tendency to leech off of libertarians, taking advantage of their tolerance, and tarnishing their image.
Libertarian left are cucks who will lecture you on how important free speech is and then bend over at the first sign of resistance. However if that resistance comes from their fellow libertarians who actually want to do something other than bend over, they will go out of their way to sabotage their efforts.
Libertarian right live in lolbertarian fantasy land. They're just barely a few steps above anarcho-capitalist and are currently suffering from a heavy dose of irony as private businesses choose to refuse service to them. It's OK though as long as it's not the government.
The center is mostly a mixture of apathetic people and people who never think for themselves and are easily manipulated by the media. Both are useless for preserving free speech.

Seeing how it takes a lot of effort that could be better spent on anything else, it'll collapse under its own weight eventually. The people pushing it will get purged by what they created, or simply retire, and then it'll degrade or fall apart unless you have the constant pressure of these nihilist sickos in /pol/.
