Is true religious absolution a bad idea? - Transgressions on Saturday, Absolution on Sunday, rinse wash repeat.

Psalm 137 is not about the Second Coming. You’re such a typical online anime profile Christian; it’s like you’re doing a bit.
I think you have shown enough of your lack of knowledge for today.
That is about Jesus my guy. You are retarded.
You still haven’t paid thread tax. Let us hear your take regarding absolution and its implications for avoiding consequences.
The Catholics have their own thing. Nothing is inherently wrong with it. It depends on the person using the Absolution. Are they doing it because they want to change, or to appear like a Saint in front of their peers? That is the nature of repentance in the end. It's up to the individual. The institution can only provide the tools.

Questions of a religious concept being a "bad idea" based on hypothetical temporal consequences are entirely secondary to whether the concept is true or not.

But the admonition following absolution is "go forth, and sin no more," not "ollie ollie oxen free."

It does. Muslims can confess their sins directly to Allah and beg him for forgiveness. Islam is about how Allah is the only God and in return for getting a direct hotline to him, Allah demands you follow his commandments that Muhammad told everyone. So that's why Muslims do things like bang their heads on the floor five times a day and scream Allahu Akbar because it gives them points with Allah.
Question is if the prayer is considered to automatically absolve you of sin or not.
That's history channel nonsense. There were no explicit laws against it in Athens. Pedophilia was frowned upon socially.
That is why you find many Greek writers like for example Plato, Aristotle and Xenophon calling it degenerate and morally bad and that is regarding pederasty because sex with prepubescents children was socially not acceptable at all.

Rome had no specific law against it but sexual conduct laws indirectly protected children. And it was explicitly against the civil code.

Ancient Germanic law had explicit protections for children.

Next you are gonna tell me Hadrian was gay because he mourned his friend.
Lol that's some massive cope "yeah it was legal but it was frowned upon socially". What's even the point of this anyways? As it stands Europeans are the first in line to legalize pedophilia.

The only reason the West isn't like these Middle Eastern shitholes (Israel included) with rampant child prostitution, animal abuse, sodomy, and torture is that their biology leads them to different values.
God you all are so fucking dumb.
You realize how common torture and animal abuse were just 400 years ago in the Western world? They all mutate or something?

Torture still exists today, and if you’re trying to tell me that someone raping their pet was totally okay in the West 400 years ago, then you are the idiot, sir.
Raping your pet, no.

Throwing a cat in an oven and burning it alive to dispel evil spirits, yes.
Having a pack of dogs fight a bear to the death, yes.
Ripping pieces of flesh off of a criminal bit by bit, yes.
Ripping someone limb from limb by tying them to four horses and pulling in opposite directions, yes.

Your ignorance is an ugly trait. I'd work on it.

the solution to the question of this thread will be solved when Jesus (GOD) Returns

I saw a fear porn live stream alert last night that really got my noggin jogging to the point when I saw the title of this thread I clicked it to share this autism with you. Agenda-Free TV

Is running your country in religious absolution a bad idea? In my opinion yes
I get it this guy is jewish, but honestly imagine streaming this way for Great britian, or the united states, or France or Canada. its absurd behavior.

I dont need to kill to honor god, I don't need a nation of only people who have a relationship with christ like me. I just need to stop being bullshitted by weirdo's like this guy who deserves his own thread

Christianity brought a lot of anti-witchcraft anti-evil spirit nonsense from Semite thinkers to the West.
The Inquisition was pretty bad, but they were basically Judeo-Westerners.

Anyway, show me those ancient texts or stories from the West condoning the rape of prepubescent boys and girls.
In Judaism, it’s considered acceptable at less than 3 years to rape a baby girl, and we all know about Muhammad's child bride.
Ketubot 11b
An adult man who engaged in intercourse with a minor girl less than three years old has done nothing, as intercourse with a girl less than three years old is tantamount to poking a finger into the eye.
There are many equally disturbing verses found in Jewish tradition.

You can complain about capital punishment all you want, but you won’t find anything even remotely as disgusting as this among ancient Western writings.

Semites were and still are savages.

You are the fool, sir, and you still have to pay the thread tax.

Rinse and repeat isn’t repentance. True repentance requires you to reflect in your actions and realise they are wrong, then commit to changing your ways. It’s not something people commonly do.
Humans feel shame when they do bad things shame is incredibly powerful and people will do almost anything to avoid it - but rather oddly they will do anything to avoid it except stopping doing the stuff that causes them to feel shame. You can see the rationale behind confession, it sets the stage for repentance, but Man again fails to do what he should.
All the religious rituals like papal indulgences and chicken swinging (heck, the entire of the Jewish rules lawyering ) are Man’s attempts to wriggle their way out of feeling Shame without actually using it to grow.
I’m not entirely sure that Jesus would be Ok with people saying a few half arsed Hail Marys on Sunday then beating their kids again on Monday again and again. There’s no repentance.

The modern world allows people a million ways to avoid shame. We aren’t allowed to shame people for greed, for lust, or for terrible behaviour. Instead the shame has been used as a tool to modify behaviour in the ways which benefit the state, not the person or the community.
We really need to make shame great again.
OP you might find reading about the penitential type movements in medieval Italy interesting - they were put down as heretics
