Now that you mention it, that's kind of a little known contributor to the incel problem. People underestimate how much passive parents can fuck up their kids. If it's not "God/Allah/Shiva has a plan for you", then it's a "It'll happen when it happens. Worked for me back in '82!" boomer excuse to not teach their son how to be a man. Some parents really think it's enough to just exist and things will fall into place socially and romantically like it did when America was still a first world country. Parents really need to talk to their kids about dating, even if it's just as simple as asking them if there's any girls/boys they like. God, I sound like CWC demanding dating education for all the TRUE and HONEST virgins with rage.....
I kind of got this treatment growing up and I still have a chip on my shoulder against my dad to this day, and I actually HAVE a GF now. Being a mid 20's late bloomer really makes you doubt yourself sometimes.
Which is why asexuality and not wanting to date/marry shouldn't be stigmatized. That being said, not everyone is blessed with the ability to switch off that part of their brain.
