IT Chapter Two

It appears WB is playing it smart and has released the final trailer for the movie.

Also it appears several changes were made from the book, such as having Bill's son end up in Derry instead of his wife and Bill and Beverly becoming a couple. I cannot remember if this was part of the original novel but I recall in the 1990 television miniseries that the Losers who left Derry and got married were not able to conceive children until after they came back and defeated It for good.

Is this a riff on the Paraphanalia wagon scene from Halloween is Grinch night?

Original movie was a great drama with fantastic performances and visual style all wasted in service of a shitty predictable horror movie. Hopefully they learned their lesson, but IMO adult characters don't work as well for this kind of story as kids.

Maybe the gangbang will be in the mini-series they are working on?

The kid in the funhouse is a boy Bill meets in the book. Bill wants to try the kids skateboard but he's too afraid to use it, then they talk about Pennywise. The funhouse scene is new though. Also Bill and Bev do have a brief affair in the book but Bev ultimately ends up with Ben. From what I've seen they stick pretty close to the book, just adding things here and there.

I like their choice of the creepy old lady, it's a pretty memorable scene from the book so it's nice to see them sticking with that.

Me too. It's genuinely one of the creepiest scenes in the book and so effective on film with changes made so subtly until you realise shit shit shit get out.

As much as I was terrified by the Tim Curry version when I was 10, it's comical now. I hope this one takes a few artistic liberties to avoid the disappointment of the first film.

Also for those asking where the unfilmable tween orgy was, at the very end of the film you see that someone (presumably Beverly) has inked a V over the S on Eddie's cast so it reads LOVER. I did wonder if that was a small nod to the fact that it had in some form taken place off-screen*.

*although of course they changed it up a bit in this film so she was taken by Pennywise and the others had to go rescue her (that really annoyed me btw). Hm. Maybe a celebratory gang bang after? Or they'll do it as adults!

the MPAA rating for Chapter 2 is out. To no ones surprise, it's rated R.

However, what I find interesting are the reasons its rated R: [disturbing violent content and bloody images throughout, pervasive language, and some crude sexual material.]

for comparison Chapter 1 is only rated R for: [violence/horror, bloody images, and for language]

expect it to get a lot more graphic
