there used to be a soft requirement for accessing the internet that you were male, white, wealthy, educated, metropolitan, Liberal, and free thinking. or, you were the children or friends with someone like the above. for years these people had the keys to the internet and provided a stable and open futuristic playground for the middle and upper class to play around in
then, around the early 2010s, smart phones became a thing. over the course of a few years the internet became infested from everyone, everywhere, all over the world. third world countries jumped from having almost no tech infrastructure to everyone having a phone. pajeets, children, rednecks, old people, the poor, the stupid, religious fundamentalists — almost overnight there was a flood of technologically illiterate undesirables that ruined everything
the internet went from being inhabited and run by stable, educated, middle/upper class men to:
- third world scammers
- horny pajeets
- children that constantly say edgy shit to get a rise out of people
- moralfagging women
- the smelly, unkempt crazy cat lady that lives in the run down house across the street
- your racist uncle that complains about democrats nonstop at thanksgiving
- old people. just old people, in general
just like bughives right now, the women and soyboys that seem to make up a large chunk of oldfags are having a rough time dealing with the true diversity they clamored for coming to fruition
