Culture It's Time To Wonder If A Missing Person Alert Should Be Sent Out For The Hawk Tuah Girl, Who Hasn't Released A New Podcast Or Been Seen In Public In 2 - Months After Her Crypto Pump And Dump. Yes, this is a real article.

With Portnoy announcing that he's considering launching a meme coin, I went and did some research on the other crypto coin not named $TRUMP that took the world by storm a few months ago for all the wrong reasons. John Rich did a great blog about it here:

Since that time, we've had barely any updates, besides an obvious PR crisis firm- written tweet by Hailey after it was announced she's getting sued:

And initially I thought that would be the return of Hawk Tuah, mainly because she said she was going to help the investors who lost money. But nope, it's been almost two months and it seems like she's disappeared off the face of the Earth. No new podcast, no new Twitter posts, no Instagram stories, nada. It's an interesting rise-and-fall of someone who was legitimately one of the most famous people on the Internet for a couple months, and one bad crypto actor later, she's completely gone.

The point of this blog is that you should always invest responsibly, and if Dave does end up making a meme coin, luckily he said he'd only do it with someone he trusts a billion percent because otherwise we're fucked:

Good luck out there.

I still don't understand why this was funny in the first place. It's the lowest of lowest-common-denominator humor.
In time, this may go down at the worst meme of the 2020's. At least Skibidi Biden is notable for how absurd it is.

Someone was investing in her podcast and pulled all funding after the rugpull most likely. It doesn't seem like some genius strategy on her part but like she fumbled an easy bag. Or maybe the investors were the shitcoiners themselves and now they made the money they're gone.

Post-ironic humour. The idea of continually finding a joke as fleeting and one-dimensional as hawk tuah funny is what makes the meme funny to people, rather than the joke itself. Virtually every hawk tuah meme pokes fun at this aspect (especially when it concerns the podcast)

I can't speak with authority on who or how many people enjoy hawk tuah as I've completely shuttered myself away from the mainstream Internet, but it's pretty obvious that there's a moderate to extreme level of astroturfing from her management. I wouldn't be surprised if the ironic push was something thought up by the faceless people that market her. It's a lot easier to sell people on a product if it's being sold in a joking or insincere way (think funny-bad cinema or novelty songs, which have been around for about as long as the music industry)
