Order of the Phoenix is actually a fantastic adaption for that reason because it scraps all of the pointless side shit except for Hagrid's retarded brother (because Rowling insisted that he would be important to the plot of book 7, LMAO. You can guess how that turned out) but that's still enough to preserve the core of the story. The story is still ass, mind you, but as far as adaptions go, they did a surprisingly good job.

Also the reboot is going to be shit. The only new things they'd be including is filler stuff and that is better on page than on-screen.

Marauders era would make sense, not because it would lead to any great stories but because it would be major CW teen girl audience bait. Easy money by the truckloads.

fans like that background stuff. world building. it's not "plot" per se, but if it's well done, it adds to it.

So, what we're telling troons non-stop? "This male character wants to fuck his girlfriend but also once hugged his broheim and felt a little funny". Straight, bi at worst. Nah give it 500 reviews on goodreads and there's a troon narrative evolving. Let us enjoy shit without your insecure asses having to gaslight the masses that a character you didn't create is a certain way.

JK Rowling right now is just a bored, middle-aged woman with infinite time on her hands. Shes set for life so naturally the only way to pass the time is to incite shit on social media or give random, nonsenical tidbits like "Hermione used magic to undo the effects of her first period" or "Snape once looked at Dumbledore's ass and thought it looked nice." Shes bored out of her goddamn mind from making it big and I doubt she'll do a sequel series with the next generation either. I'd say the HBO show will occupy her time.

I think we do not have another HP general, so - I distimctly remember there being ancient tie-in merch that depicted Gryffindor shield with a gryphon instead of a lion. I can not find it, I saw it on a web2.0 remnantish site back then. Halp. Reason: love when silly offmodel merch occurs.
