My guess - it is a more generalized hit on Claremont Institute (which the media despises) and Jack is making himself a bigger part of the story (whatever it is) than he could conceivably be. Claremont has a ton of 'affiliated scholars' who are akin to the tons of 'adjunct' professors at colleges who never actually work there, but have spoken there a few times.

He's clearly seen the response people have to Taylor Lorenz and her brand of "journalism" after she tried to dox and cancel Libsoftiktok. Jack's trying to generate sympathy for himself by making it sound like he's been unfairly targeted by the media machine for his political beliefs. He's hoping that people will simply see Washington Post in his tweet, start to associate accusations against him and tales of his past sexual escapades as just more "leftist propaganda" trying to shut him down because he's a right wing figure.

It's almost clever but it's not going to work. Too many people have seen the video of him shoving a dildo up his ass and the other one about how much he loves tight college boy asses. And for the people who haven't...well we can always link them to those here!

I think what it was was that this reporter asked him for a comment about a hit piece they are doing about Claremont (not him) and he concocted a theory that it is all about him, probably as another poster said, to shoehorn his way back into the good graces of the online grift-right.

It's not even factually accurate either there was not a substantial rise in inflation as a result of any of the bills Trump signed, whatever their merit or lack thereof. You see the first insane jump when the first Biden coronavirus omnibus Bill was signed. And then another big one for the so-called infrastructure bill. Yes the first ones that Trump signed contributed to what happened eventually but they themselves did not cause it there just isn't an appreciable rise in inflation at that point.

Overall Murphy is just a complete idiot and I don't understand what audience he is looking for. He's too dumb for a highbrow centrist market ala the Atlantic, and that kind of centrist everyone is bad commentary is not something more downscale audiences are interested in either.
