To his credit, he's using fresh ingredients, and putting in some work by roasting and peeling the peppers.

As usual, though, Jack has to be Jack and cut corners by not soaking the (raw, non-canned) beans overnight. Also, why is there bacon in it? It's already got lots of meat, and the bacon just looks sad and floppy in the chili.

It's never going to be perfect, but hopefully he actually enjoyed it and starts making things using actual ingredients a bit more often.

I mean after a decade of making 'shit', at least he's finally done something a bit differently.

He deserves a gold star. Not for being an amazing YouTube chef, but for actually listening to criticism and trying something different.

The Chili is fine but jack has a wonderful cast iron dutch oven type pot that he uses to brown his meat... that what he should have cook the chilli he doesn't even deglase the pan. You know those brown bits on the bottom of a pan when you cook meat? That favour. The ideal is to brown up the meat and onion then add water to the same pan.

Or alcohol. I know he doesn't drink but uses it in cooking. A little jack Daniels to deglaze that might be nice.

I'd say beer or wine. Maybe both. JD would probably be good too. Or tequila. Just a small, small amount. Add enough to deglaze, stir until this is achieved, then add the rest of your liquid and other ingredients.

Question:
Has anyone ever cooked a decent chili that has been accepted by all sides as being 'authentic'?

The chili scene honestly sounds about spergy as the following groups of the cooking fandom:
  • The perfect steak
    • If you do it any other way then you are wrong
  • The perfect pizza
    • If you do it any other way then you are wrong
  • The perfect pasta sauce
    • If you do it any other way then you are wrong
  • The perfect burger
    • If you do it any other way then you are wrong
  • The perfect fried chicken
    • If you do it any other way then you are wrong
I get that this stance is often intended as a joke, but there are legitimately people who seem to actually care when people cook things in a way that isn't the way they're used to.

Food snobs are trash; it's why you'll get speds who reee about cheesesteaks not being a real one even when you only use the ingredients that are accepted. Use Cheez Whiz? "Not authentic because provalone!" Use provalone? "Not authentic because not Cheez Whiz!" Hell, they ding you for your bread, even when it's the italian style rolls you fucking use for it since it's not their specific namebrand.

But that still does not excuse how Jack cannot make what even a drunk as fuck person could make. Chili's aren't hard to not fuck up.

Lmao not even 20 seconds in and he's admitting that he's only doing this because he's been getting shit for using canned trash. Jack is by far my favorite dude to follow, he's not horrific like other people he's just really incompetent about making food.

Has he disabled his like-to-dislike ratio?
Looks like it. I like to think that Jack or his son became aware of this thread and is afraid of mass dislikes

I dunno man literal blood has been spilled in Philly over the great Pat's vs Geno's debate.

Speaking of cheesesteaks ...

I'm fairy sure all parties can agree that this is not how one makes a cheesesteak

but at lest he degreases the pan this time

and the joy of Jack thinking it a good idea to keep the family argument in the video

You will be surprised how many cheesesteak recipes involve a crock pot. (:_(

His new "tech" channel seems to be just an attempt at getting a few more bucks from youtube views and possibly some free items from companies who are somehow unaware of Jack's low IQ and overall idiocy as well as the fact that he's a child abuser, genocide monger and religious nutcase.

Edit: That "chili" looks more like soup than a chili and it looks like he's about to throw up at 7:24 into the video when he tastes it. Yet another failure added to his personal CV.

It's not a cheese steak, but it doesn't look like I'd get the shits from it. It's a pot roast sandwich. They're good.
