All evidence is that this entire shebang is self-insert fanfiction.
What's hilarious about this is that it nicely gets across that Crowgirl (Crawley's authorial self-insert)
is fucking pants-on-head retarded.
Crowgirl and Tankboy are assholes who make three to four times what a work-a-day schleb might earn (seriously, Crowgirl makes like 2000 dollars for an "article;" If I got paid her rates I could write myself a fucking new car by next week), and since they live in a shithole apartment and since Crowgirl herself is anorexic and will be TRIGGERED TO DEATH if she eats a fucking Muffin, you'd think that her self-insert lives simply and comfortably. It's only when you take a glance at their spending habits
in-game that you realize that Crawley is fucking nuts and somehow, impossibly, has worse financial management skills than Pristine Christine.
They spend fucking hundreds eating out. Their dinner with Flat-Top at the Japanese place alone runs almost $100, and the one they have at a fancy restaurant runs almost four times that, and they apparently owe hundreds on a fucking tab at said restaurant. The pair comes across as nutjobs that spend thousands a month on convenience foods and don't think about basic necessities until they've almost fucked themselves out of house and home.
The game's narrative along its single scenario basically shits itself inside-out around the 31% mark, when Flat-Top is willing to front them money until they get back on their feet. Their financial impetus for the attack - the fact that they lacked the money to buy food - is fucking solved, but they conduct the attack anyway, and at no point is it ever established what the bank actually
did to "screw" Tankboy out of his money.
And then, it fucking hits you: The bank at the start of the game that "stole" $70,000 from Tankboy? They fucking nailed him for unreported income. Which is
exactly what happened to Crawley when she got nailed by the Canadian fed for doing the same fucking thing with her GoFundMe Campaign. Crawley attempts to steer the narrative of this shitheap so that it seems like the banks are being cruel and mean for no reason (an easy thing to make out, since they're about as subtle as a Captain Planet villain), when in truth, she's pissed because they did their job and cracked down on her crowdfunded freeloading ass.
