Being royalty doesn't equal being government. Their royalty are old money that have been about since the seventies (around when their monarchy was abolished). India very much operates within a caste system.

Are you retarded? India became independent in 1947. It was founded as a republic. Before that it was part of the British Empire.

There is no such thing as the Indian Royal family. Any royalty was limited to small states.

A quick google would have let you know what you are saying is an outright lie.

Indian royals were still receiving income up until the seventies directly from the government, long after that.

"In India, a privy purse was a payment made to the ruling families of erstwhile princely states as part of their agreements to first integrate with India in 1947 after the independence of India, and later to merge their states in 1949, thereby ending their ruling rights.

The privy purses continued to be paid to the royal families until the 26th Amendment in 1971, by which all their privileges and allowances from the central government ceased to exist, which was implemented after a two-year legal battle."

The article states “the Indian royal family.” Again no such family exists. There were aristocracies in the various states of India but none could claim to be the ruling family.

Just because some vestiges of the old elites existed and were paid off it doesn’t mean they had power across the subcontinent.

There is no Indian royal family. A bunch of aristocrats that would stab each of in the back, usually to gain British favour, but not a family that ruled India.
