Aside from autism as @autisticdragonkin said, probably writing the same thing over again but with a slight difference just to make it look like it's a different setting or something. Still, autism is the bigger reason. How the hell do you write 2 million words about horse fart-fucking?
No, and don't give them ideas!I thought that that was a reference to this
Was that a criteria that absolutly must be filled for the commission to be completed properly? Couldn't you have just not masturbated and said you did? Did he need photo evidence? No, and don't give them ideas!
Working with these heavy fetishes guys can be completely draining, it's true. I used to draw smut to fund my own hobbies, but it went over the line when one guy asked if I would masturbate while working on his commission.
Nah, that was after I was working on a character sheet for him and he wanted another piece so it could be sent at the same time. I just finished his original commission and declined further contact. Was that a criteria that absolutly must be filled for the commission to be completed properly? Diligently. How the hell do you write 2 million words about horse fart-fucking?
I've seen enough of the furry fandom to know that porn artists can make some serious bank if they're willing to sell their souls to what their fans want. Artists like Sparrow, Wolfy-Nail and Adam Wan live off doing this stuff and as long as they're willing to do it the fans will pay out the ass for it. I'm not going to link to this for sanity reasons but if you think ten grands excessive there's another fucking crazy lolcow out there who loves to waste shit-tons of money on their 'avatar'; Purgy, aka Purgatore.Nah, that was after I was working on a character sheet for him and he wanted another piece so it could be sent at the same time. An extra 45$ wasn't worth the hassle.
The most I've gotten from one guy was around 1500$, and the only reason he never spent more was because I stopped taking commissions. I still chat with him every now and again.Diligently.

Purgy, aka Purgatore.
>10kAlright, so this guy is a real piece of wtf. Let's start with the story.
Jamal Prewitt is known as Maximus_Reborn and Jamal2504 in various corners of the internet. His main claim to fame is that he wrote a somewhat popular My Little Pony story on FIMFiction.net called Of Spiders and Magic, the title of which was later changed to Spiders and Magic: Rise of Spider-Mane. As you may be able to tell by the title, this is a crossover between My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and the Spider-Man series. It ships Peter Parker with Twilight Sparkle.
The original story has 61 chapters and totals 367,232 words.
Spiders and Magic II: Eleven Months, which is about Twilight Sparkle getting pregnant with Peter Parker's baby (yeah, I know), is 10 chapters long, for a total of 68,796 words.
Spiders and Magic III: Days of Friendship Past is 10 chapters and 54, 596 words.
That's a total of just under half a million words that this man has devoted to his series. He also apparently put up a story that was literally just a list of 100 reasons why Twilight Sparkle and Peter Parker are the greatest couple in history, but took it down when people started shitting on him because it was retarded.
And if that was the end, he'd just be another dumb autistic brony. But no, it's not the end.
You see, Jamal Prewitt has commissioned (as far as my cursory research into the subject has been able to uncover) over four hundred images for his story and his OTP, which he calls "Spidertwi".

From what I gather after reading the comments on some of these pics, people thought the pairing was a strangely popular crack pairing for a while, until other people who were more in the know enlightened the community about how they came to be.

There are comment strings like this one all over the sites his images are posted on. Brony drama sites have even picked up on it:
Speaking of that, almost every single one of the pictures listed under his tags has either "commissioned by Jamal2504/commission for Jamal2504" somewhere on the original page, and if not that, there's almost always still some indication that it was a commission done for money, at the very least. Being marginally intelligent people, we can infer things.
But in case you're not marginally intelligent, let me show you exactly what I mean.

I could go on, but I think I've made my point. I found all of these examples by clicking on completely random images, btw. There are none at all anywhere that were made of the artist's own volition or commissioned by people other than Jamal. We can assume, therefore, that Jamal has been the source of all but a very small few of these images.
Now, the cost of a colored image from an artist on the internet ranges from about $15 to $60, if I'm not mistaken, depending on the artist (I don't commission fanart because I'm not a faggot, so feel free to correct me). Let's assume he's spending an overall average of about $25 on each image. Jamal has commissioned around four hundred images in total. This means that he has spent around $10,000 on this.
It's shocking, isn't it? How could he pay for it, right? Well, supposedly, he doesn't!
I don't actually have a link to verify this one, but when I contacted people who had dealt with him (I found a lot of disgruntled people in his story comments, lol), a couple of them mentioned rumors that he commissions stuff, then doesn't pay the full amount for it, citing that he's run out of money. Apparently he's enough of a whiner and a creep that most artists are glad to get rid of him and don't harass him after he breaks off contact. If I can find something to verify this besides rumors, I'll definitely post it.
Even if he does do this, which I'm not sure he does, however, he still has to spend a shitload on commissions. His Facebook says he's a doffer at some company, which can't be a very enriching job, so it's likely that he's spending his entire paycheck on this, sans what he needs for food and home expenses and things.
Oh, and by the way, there's even more to him that I didn't put down. I've found rumors about him trying to commission pedo stuff from people and being a hardcore MRA, among other things, but I don't really have enough to justify a whole section on it yet. I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of this. Either way, what the fuck.

There was this one fellow who always commissioned pics of the Spitfire pony, but that was clearly one person because the pictures always had her wearing the same thing and boinking the same OC.
But this? I mean, Spider-Man is a popular character, so it's reasonable that multiple people commissioned it.
I ended up accidentally finding some LOHAV stories, and I literally didn't even have to read them to find out that they were garbage. It's nice to know that I was right. You have no idea how dead-on that assessment is.
About a year ago, a flood of self-insert wish fufillment story clones hit Fimfiction and the only real difference in any of them was the character who the self-insert was "cosplaying" as before encountering the same pretentious bullshit involving a merchant selling them some magical item (always "the missing piece" of the costume no matter how fucking dumb it sounds) which inexplicably takes them to Equestria AND turns the self-insert into the character they're cosplaying as, complete with powers, but their mind is still the same dumbass as before. Dozens upon dozens of these got made and "featured" on the front page even though it quickly became evident they literally were nothing more than the same story premise just with different costumed people getting powers and being morons.
The poster child for what became known as "League of Humans Acting Villanous" - and soon after the initial cause for why it stopped getting cloned ad nauseum - was when a story called Air Superiority shot up to the #1 popular story spot in record time and only one moderately short chapter of story content. After a while, people who weren't fanboy shills for the "LOHAV" bothered reading it and discovered there was literally nothing tying it to MLP - meaning the top featured story on a site about MLP fanfiction was anything but about MLP.
What happened after that was far, far more entertaining and pretty much got the asshole author off the site for good AND killed the rampaging autism story craze for LOHAV garbage at the same time.
About a year ago, one site seems to have stated the amount easily was about $3K based on the sheer number of commissioned pics of Spidey X Twily in the guy's own DA folder. He easily could have spent more than double the amount in the year between then and now to bump the absurd expenses to five digit values now.
And didn't take criticism of his crossover ship fic well at all.
