Hard to forget when this seems to happen on a monthly basis, if not more frequently at times. I think it's going to get worse before something meaningful happens, and even then James will be putting out some non-apology because he got caught. Apparently he doesn't feel the need to hide his degeneracy, and as long as his tween girl fans are supporting him he'll just bounce back.

That's JC's claim. It falls apart because a few of them had their age plastered all over their profiles, and he wished one of them happy birthday because he saw the kid talking about turning 16. He's also mentioned talking to kids that he knew were still in school.
He'd never do that as he always makes himself the victim.
Saying shit like this is a pretty pathetic cop out. First off, a good amount of the boys were very visibly under 18 - any idiot could tell that. It's pretty obvious he knew at least some of the dudes he was talking to were a lot younger than him. He used his power as someone rich and famous to manipulate and use kids for his own sexual gratification - there's no ifs or buts about it.
I bet if this case was brought to course (which I doubt will happen) he would claim some bullshit like "oh, those boys tricked me into believing that they were 18 or older!".

There's a reason why bars ask for id. Kids lie all the time but it's the adults who have to be responsible. That excuse doesn't hold up in court.
Exactly. Ignorance and mistaken belief as to age are not admissible in court for the very reason it would allow predators any easy way out.

Not really though, like with most things, there are mitigating factors. In a vacuum "they said they were 18 when I asked" is a valid defense, but in JC's case, the following questions can be asked: did he ask to see ID? Was there any way for him to easily discover their real age, by doing some basic social media research? Do they look really young?
