I really have no idea what they were expecting. Averaging 15k views for a podcast with a nobody (Ryan) and a washed-up d-list retro gaming "celebrity" (Mike) in the sea of thousands of other gaming podcasts is actually more than they probably deserved. It's not even like they were really declining in views; consistently getting most of your 15k subscriber base to watch your videos is more than enough to appease the youtube algorithm if they just stuck with it. If they were really desperate for views they should've just out it on the Cinemassacre channel itself like the old Talk About Games- it would've gotten 200k+ views each episode easy in comparison to how shitty everything else on the channel has been recently. I suppose putting it on it's own channel is part of Screenwave's recent distancing from Cinemassacre.

I figure the actual reasons for it's ending are: Mike's 52 episode + some extras contract ran out and he didn't feel like renewing for the amount of money he was getting, and Ryan will have no time now that he's trooning out.

I think it's 50/50 with Screenwave and James just being burnt out doing this for almost 20 years now. I think he'll stop doing AVGN when new episodes get well under a million views after a week and it's already slowly happening.

james and mike should've done a podcast.... J&M Mondays was sorta podcast-esque at times with the bouncing off each other, but in the TAG format, I think it would've been a decent show...just don't talk about games since James doesn't play.

Balding doesn't work for James but I don't think it necessarily doesn't work for the Nerd as a character. Tbh it's for the best for him to play that up, but I doubt his ego would allow it. Receding hairline is a lot more relatable to most nerds than this troon shit anyway.
Almost certain there is no joke about that for Ryan btw. Troons sometimes like to ease into it to get people used to it, even making the excuse of it being a joke like "it's totally a joke lol, unless...?"

Hudson Hawk review was meh. Only watched it out of curiosity, I think I’m just done with the kind of humor James and the rest of the mid 2000s angry critics haven’t moved past. Now that they’re involved with a fat tranny running the show it’s just going to get worse.
