Although ScreenWave took over Cinemassacre in 2012, at least the quality of AVGN episodes were still consistent until late-2015. Big Rigs, Hong Kong 97, Nintendo World Championship and Seaman were absolutely some of my favorite episodes. Though the ScrewAttack era of AVGN will always be comfy peak 2000s-to-early-10s entertainment (his Ghostbusters review is one of my favorites).

Sorry, not 100% sober here, but what about this... we know Mike was the brains behind AVGN and James was the front... i kind of like Erin plays but what about Mike strted to write and help out her and make a "Angry video game dudette"? I mean why not? Sure she is a more wholesome tuber but she knows to use swearwords and seems legitimatly passioned about video games. She uploads fairly consistent. The angry reviews are a dying breed but i would watch her videos, specially with her boyfriend helping out to make sure the "info to dookey jokes" ratio was consistent.

The problem with all that is Erin looks like a living Cabbage Patch Doll, and that toy line was known for being really ugly dolls

Their "No Views" series, where they review short films from Vimeo or YouTube with almost no views, is very good by the way. I don't understand why they dropped it... It had a lot more potential to grow than their shitty food market reviews or boring podcast. Another example of content creators who don't understand what their real strengths are.

I loved his old AVGN videos, specifically the halloween episodes, Board James, YKWB and Monster Madness
Now though, his videos just feel soulless and I've pretty much stopped watching his stuff
There was 1 video type I never watched, and it was the James and Mike Mondays, or whatever they were called. Matei was the most obnoxious piece of work I've heard for the longest time

And to think that obnoxious piece of work was basically the real AVGN. His involvement with writing the scripts with James, getting the footage and overall demeanor was essentially the brains of AVGN for the longest time as James himself prefers movies over video games

Considering James wanted to be more of a filmmaker for so long due to his knowledge with horror movies (including the classic era of Universal Monsters), this isn't a surprise.
