He doesn't even have to be angry and just talk normally about games as the Nerd. I get that Angry is in the title but not like it matters. Times changed and that schtick has long since been retired
I think someone in this thread came up with this idea. He could do a skit where a game makes him so mad, he tears his hair out. And that'd be a perfect point to go "Holy shit, I should calm the fuck down" and become Calm* Video Game Nerd.
EDIT: *and bald!

I wonder if he would accept fan-submitted scripts? That would be an idea. Just have a limit like "don't write in too much camera work" or if there's a specific moment you want commented on require that the fan have to provide the footage.

Though if you're going that far you might as well make the video yourself.

There are potential royality disputes and the fact that 99% of fan-submitted scripts will be absolute garbage. Not worth the time to sift through potential thousands of submissions.

Considering his love for games like Donkey Kong Country, it would work. He doesn't even have to be angry and just talk normally about games as the Nerd. I get that Angry is in the title but not like it matters. Times changed and that schtick has long since been retired
i mean he could still get angry at great games the nerd likes,, you'd just frame it as he's frustrated at the BS hard game

And yet the Dreamcast was discontinued by Sega in 2001, because they are shit at marketing their consoles.
Well at that point they had also lost their good relationships not just with people but with other companies as well.
  • Stike 1 - 32X was someone having a coke-induced panic attack because they actually believed the Atari Jaguar would become some sort of threat.
  • Strike 2 - The Sega Saturn pissed off a bunch of retailers due to exclusivity bullshit while also pissing off developers for being too fucking complicated to work on.
  • Strike 3 - The Dreamcast's architecture became a turn-off to some companies like EA, who thought Sega were being retarded for going with a company no one ever heard of just because they were related to one of the sega execs.

He did that with Earthbound, and it was considered one of the best newer episodes. Later he did Contra, and that was pretty good too. I don't know why he doesn't do those kinds of episodes more often. James does seem to genuinely enjoy the games he grew up with.

cause that requires actual work

Since Contra was a rehash of a previous episode, it's kinda a cheat code and wasn't really work.

He's clocked out beyond belief. Just hand him the gameplay and script. Record by 5:40 and profit

This is legitimately one fo the warmest internet pictures I’ve seen here, it’s like nostalgia in a bottle. Too bad none of them other than James still work on the channel. When is this photo from again exactly?

Which previous episode ? Are you referring to this one ?

1) The 32X was a result of Sega of America and Sega of Japan not being on the same page and butting heads on what to do next. Sega of America wanted to stick with the Genesis due to sales for the system still being good while Sega of Japan wanted to move on to the next generation. However, Sega of Japan didn't tell Sega of America that they were already planning the Saturn so when the advertising for the 32X started, Sega of Japan shortly announced the upcoming Saturn which screwed things up as Sega of America wasn't aware of it.

2) The Saturn failed in America because Sega decided to push the release date of the Saturn sooner rather than later which pissed off a bunch of retailers who weren't expecting it to be released that soon but rather a few months down the line which affected the release date for games as 3rd-party companies weren't ready for it and had to rush their games out. It was also harder to program for the Saturn than other systems. The PS1 was also going to be cheaper than the Saturn as remembered in that famous E3 conference.

3) By the time of the Dreamcast, Sega had had so many blunders that many people didn't trust Sega anymore. Add in that shortly after the release of the Dreamcast, the PS2 was going to come out and it would have had the added bonus of also being a DVD player while the Dreamcast wouldn't have that.

We are all just small hairy Kiwis on the dick of the Internet.
Tony Soprano- “If the history of the internet was represented by a dick, the time that kiwis have been alogging would only be small hairs at the very bottem. You realize how insignificant that makes us?”

Chris - “...I don't feel that way.”
