Big Ryan has made his first public appearance since he ended his podcast with Mike, he appears to be continuing his transition.

Most of the people on the subreddit were making fun of him so the jannies had to shut it down. I believe the mods on there have already said that clowning on Ryan drew the attention of Reddit admins and they were worried it would get the sub shut down.

A few people were comparing him to Chris and there is a bit of a resemblance.

It must eat him up inside that he'll never look like a woman as much as Justin "American PPP" Silverman does.

Yeah, one page per episode as a a giant chapter, one about his childhood (including his childhood love for making films) and another one about his film mishap. An then one about his other projects like Board James. There we go, a lovely book for all the AVGN fans.

James really likes to do the skits and all that stuff. I'm more, definitely more about the gameplay and like the analogies, that's the part of the show I think's good and funny, y'know.

James doesn't do streams [...] Like I've said before, if he'd ever wanted to get into that I'd be more than happy to set him up with, helping, learn how to do all this, but he's... y'know. He wants to make a movie.

The GBA was like the Commodore 64 with the types of games which you'd find on it. But I remember seeing the original Inspector Gadget cartoon on tv in the 90s then you had the Disney movie and the direct to video inspector gadget sequels around 2002. So maybe that's why it got a game?

The real shock is both actually seem like decent games.

GBA was the first portable console with stationary console capabilities. It was huge in the early 2000s, everyone and their mother wanted their game on the GBA.

With Gadget though, it seems like when he got a SNES game the property was still seen as relevant, as one of the hype factors for that game (even mentioned on the box) was you get to see Dr. Claw's face. The toyline did that too... and the packaging was even specifically designed so that you had to buy the toy and open it just to see the face (the box even warned you not to buy it if you would rather keep it a mystery).

Fun fact: Inspector Gadget began life as a spinoff of Lupin the Third. In my headcanon Gadget is part of the Lupin universe.

Anyway, might as well fire up an emulator.

That would require James to learn how to write an autobiography or pay a ghostwriter, and not just keep a bunch of floppy disks around for 20 years he tries to pawn off to unsuspecting publishers every now and then. It's a few dozen pages ago, but someone compiled a bunch of clips of him talking about how he had his autobiography planned for years and it was due out "any time." It's pretty obvious that even a publisher interested in an autobiography of a niche e-celeb turned him down over how bad it was, hence why it's self-published. But this entire thing was a long-time ego project James had, just like his movie, and he was putting it out his way because no one cared to tard wrangle him into making sure his autobiography didn't make him look insane.

Fascinating, I only knew that MGM sued DIC because they saw Gadget as infringing on the Pink Panther's Inspector Clouseau. To get MGM off their backs they had gadget remove his moustache.

I really can't think of Gadget being in the same realm as Lupin, Lupin The Third is pretty much the best of old school anime and for my money Castle of Cagliostro is the best damn thing Hayao Miyazaki directed. Let's just be honest Gadget is a cheap cartoon that was cribbing notes from two respective legendary properties.

If I decided to write a biography or ghostwrite I would do basic research. Pick up books where comedians blabber about themselves.

You know what one would likely realize, that most celeb autobiographies are actually memoirs! If your life isn't especially fascinating a memoir is without a doubt the way to go. Memoirs being a collection of essays by the author give the writer freedom to jump around, tell a story from childhood then in James's case just devote an Chapter to a memorable AVGN episode. A decent memoir can easily make a reader feel like they're hearing the author talk to them. Whereas the same stories ordered chronologically can become a struggle to get thru. I mean think about if you're talking to a good friend does he/she tell you what 1st grade was like and then what happened in 2nd grade. No, people jump around!

I cannot think of a single pop culture figure who actually did an autobiography writing a story down from the cradle to the time of writing. Even Bob Dylan's book "Chronicles" is a memoir.

THREE Legendary properties, since there's some Get Smart influence in there too... and well you could argue Gadget himself is a riff on the Million Dollar Man, so that's four... (The Get Smart stuff is more obvious due to Don Adams voicing Gadget though).

TL;DR on the Lupin/Gadget connection BTW.... originally TMS wanted to do a series (intended for western audiences) about Lupin's descendant, Lupin the 8th, who is now a cop. Jigen is his partner, and both of them actually work for future Zenigata, having a sort of "young mavericks who annoy their straight-faced superior" kinda thing going on. The LeBlanc Estate put a stop to this though (Lupin the Third always existed in a legal gray area due to being essentially an unauthorized sequel to Leblanc's own Arsene Lupin books, but Leblanc could only take action of the 3rd was ever exported).

Then Andy Heyward of DIC stepped in and pitched his cartoon idea. TMS had already spent so much money getting Lupin 8th in motion that they decided "fuck it, why not?"

I honestly really like Inspector Gadget. The original cartoon isn't brilliant (just look at the episode titles) but tell me it doesn't bring a smile to your face and you never wanted built-in helicopters.

The one thing I could do without is the knowledge of the internet fandom's favorite character. I will say no more.

Yet the Stooges haven't really been popular afterwards. By the turn of the 21st century, there was Mel Gibson's own biopic TV movie in the year 2000, and the Farrelly brothers made their own 12 years later in 2012, yet none of them are really as successful nor failures, but were just forgettable, especially compared to the early-to-mid 20th century when they were popular. The Three Stooges was sadly a product of its time.
