I took a look at this and Screen Wave seems to go out of their way to grab the shittiest and most suspicious sponsor for James' videos:

He's shilling some kind of cloud/VR/headset thing where the idea is that you hook up a bunch of shit to your console or whatever and can play the games by wearing the headset and having the glasses on as a display. The whole thing looks like one of those cheap Chinese POS items you see in a midnight infomercial or lining the shelves at a discount store.

The James & John videos are not very good as well. A lot of forced and fake laughs being made by James and the whole thing is just really awkward to watch.

I went back and watched the Jaguar CD episode of J&MM and it was so funny I was almost crying. Mike and James laughing at how shit the games are was just so enjoyable.
This point in time is Pre AVGN movie flop/poor reception and James doesn’t look checked out like he usually does nowadays.
I still enjoy the content for the most part but it’s clear as day and that’s coming from me who regularly defends James on this thread.

Why would I? They’re goobers who can’t get any views on their content that suddenly got a ton of traffic for talking about Bimster. They get like 1.7k views on non James vids and 15k+ views on James vids. Plus 90% of the shit they say is TurboTarded. I wouldn’t care if they made other content that got meaningful views but the guys can’t draw a dime.

James doesn't want to be a small time video maker. He wants to be Hollywood. In particular, he wants to be 50s/60s Hollywood because it's what he grew up watching. If he could make a low budget black and white horror movie that gained a cult following, I think he'd instantly achieve nirvana and cease to exist in that moment. It's really all he wants out of life.

You see this all the time, especially with "content creators". They're making absolute bank working ten hours a month and they're still miserable because they feel like they're destined for greatness. 99% of all humans on earth would trade lives with him in a heartbeat, but some people are just incapable of feeling content with what they have. Sometimes that restlessness drives them to greatness. Usually, it drives them to alcoholism and an early death. Hopefully James can get his zen on and just embrace his incredible life, because he really doesn't deserve to go into a creative death spiral.

I genuinely think James got burnt out and lost all passion for filmmaking after making the AVGN film. His entire life he wanted to properly do a Hollywood film, hence why he intentionally shot over budget in expensive Hollywood and filmed near all the big landmarks. After that though, to him he's hit his peak and he has nowhere to go now.

He does have to put out videos every once in a while to keep monetization for his channels. Youtube will strip a channel of its monetization if it doesn't upload anything in 6 months.

I kind of disagree with the idea James is untalented and cant make a good story. James is at his best when he makes youtube skits because he has his ego in check and has chemistry with the actors since theyre his friends. Case in point his Cryptid Show Parody. You cannot watch this and not have a smile on your face.
