He could also just install USB outlets himself if he desired, it's really not all that difficult. Then again given his duct tape tripod monstrosity I don't know if I'd want him monkeying around with even basic electrical work.
It's literally a 5 minute job to change an outlet and that includes the time it takes to switch the breaker off and back on.

But what wattage to the normal socket ones give? 5? A lot of phones need fairly expensive 65W to supercharge now.

Looking around a 30W USB-C output is about $25 still. I'd still rather have a nice multi C/A adapter that can do 65W and be future proof than rewiring to a top of the line 30W max.

USB power is a mess now, and it'll be a few years until 65W C is fully integrated into wall plugs, getting in early now at only 30W for that much isn't a good move.

I hope male USB A dies and it'll be both sides just C before long. More power, more data, easier all around. But for now the power levels are too low on sockets.

And even then, I use strips, which don't usually have them and won't for forever. So a good multi-out-plug high watt adapter is going to be the best. And they're getting damn cheap too.

You can get 65w USB wall outlets for $40 CAD.

I remember old (like Pentium 4 era) desktops not having ports in the front but nothing I have seen since has been like that. James is an Apple fag though and I rarely work with Macs so it may be another Crapple "innovation" (like removing headphone jacks).
Old "modern" apple computers like the first iMac had 2 USB ports on the keyboard, until they started to ship their computers with wireless stuff. The G3/G4 line of PowerMacs had an optional upgrade where you could add USB ports on the front, but the first Apple desktop that shipped with one port at the front of the case was the PowerMac G5 when it was launched around 2003 if my memory doesn't fails me.

At the end of the day, they kept removing ports on the desktop too, but thankfully the old USB keyboards can be used still with the modern Mac computers

I've never been able to figure out why professionals continued to use Macs post powermac. The target demographic for the machines clearly switched from graphic and video design professionals to trendy fart sniffing douchebags around the time they switched to x86. They even lied through their teeth about the yellowbox shit implying the new hardware would be even more suitable for professionals with multiOS functionality baked in which obviously never happened. It's really not all that surprising Apple keeps choosing form over functionality, people trying to do shit with their computers hasn't been Apple's target demographic for a long time.

"There's an enter only, and an exit only, and if you pick the wrong one..."

"They put arrows on the ground that (that show you which way to go) and if you accidentally go the wrong way..."

How do you pick the wrong one? How do you go the wrong way?

If his book didn't make him out to be a retard, this deluge of nontent is.

I was always under the impression that YKWBS was intentionally exaggerated like the Nerd character is.
Early YKWBS weren't exaggerated though, or at least not in the way these ones are.

I think it also doesn't help that these videos feel padded. The early ones were mostly around a minute and kept it short and sweet.

Like, you could look at the old ones and make the argument that him complaining about his shoelaces coming untied is retarded, but there isn't the same intensity as these new ones and he keeps it to a minute. He sounds like he has the normal level of annoyance instead of making it sound like he doesn't know how to read signs and arrows.

I reckon it started with stuff he was genuinely annoyed by, much like his video game reviews, but less so now.

Especially after a long hiatus like we've seen with YKWBS. It feels like he brought it back because they're shorter and easier to make than other videos. There was probably varying degrees of demand from the fans too.

As I alluded to the Nerd has gone through that same kind of flanderization process over the years. Go back and watch an early Nerd video, then watch a modern one, and tell me the character doesn't feel more like a character now than he did before.

Also, James is getting older. He's a father several times over. People tend to settle down with age so to be the Nerd he's gotta do more acting to live up to the 'Angry' part. The boring, calm, guy who you see during the sponsor reads and the movie reviews is the real James.

Because YKWBS is also an angry character you get that same level of exaggeration.

People trying to do write ups on everything wrong with the new YKWBS is very funny to me. I get it for when he releases a 20 to 30 minute AVGN video but YKWBS are like two minute little videos, the video equivalent of an M&M. It's not that big of a deal and they're fine.

I genuinely like these videos much more than his new AVGN shit, I actually only watched one new AVGN video in like 6 years I hate his new AVGNs so much, but I've watched all his new YKWBS videos when they come out. I think James should retire the Nerd and stick with YKWBS if it's profitable enough for him (probably not)
