I've only watched a chunk of the newest video (It's almost 2 hours) and I really underestimated how much Mike actually contributed to the success of AVGN. I've always seen Mike as kind of a dick-ish friend, but you wouldn't do all of that for a guy you didn't love. He's a true buddy and I hope James paid what Mike was owed.
 
I rewatched Board james and damn, does it hold up well.
Among the best work James and the gang has done.
It is hilarious and the final episode just make me laugh so much.
 
Mike might be vulgar and crass, but as my uncle used to say you don't need to be charming when you measure 8 soft.

Mike is fun. You can hear classic AVGN (which he co-wrote) in the script he is reading off of in this (which he most likely wrote).

Now I want Ryan to make a video explaining how electrons move. (Big Ryan fan btw)

This was one of my main issues with the /r/cinemassacretruth subreddit. People there are not satisfied with just saying he gave up or has been phoning it in he also has to be a scammer and evil person who lies and cheats his audience. James has been shown consistently to be one of the better Youtubers and a pretty decent guy. `

even this retrospective, those redditards can't even appreciate it. It sucks it wasn't in person, but beyond that it was a nice look back at the channel...but those faggots are never satisfied and demanded more history or whatever the fuck....they hated that mike was the one telling most of it all for some reason
 
I want to be able to shit on James but I really can’t. At least not in any meaningful way. He was an early Internet video and has been successful for two decades. He’s now a family man and provides for them using his own brand and legacy. Hard for me to hate on that.

He probably could’ve treated some people better, but we will never know the full facts of any of those dealings. Seems like he and Mike are still on very good terms, which is nice to see. Remember also that as people grow, their priorities shift. James has a wife and some muh kids. Mike… is still the exact same person he was twenty years ago.
 
I'm just going to say it, if I had to keep doing an internet show about a character I made up one day and never expected to be big for 20 years (22 if you count the pre internet episodes) I'd be pretty fucking checked out too. How much can you do creatively with a man child nerd who swears and hates shitty video games? Not much. His other videos do not get enough views to be sustainable. So what do you do? You keep doing that same shtick over and over and over again. Can you really blame him?
