You know, some of the topics listed up there are actual topics when it comes to Cinemassacre, but I'm not too sure what they're doing talking about Conan O'Brien, let alone "Snoop Dogg and Steve Urkel's Weed". Guess they're doing their dardnest to cater to James's normie attitudes towards pop culture.
I don't doubt that James knows about this stuff, but what the fuck does it have to do with AVGN, or hell... even the channel? Maybe this is a preview for a new show? NGL, I would laugh my ass off if the slobs made James do a show where he reviews weed

He's the Relaxed Music Band Junkie now, the James Rolfe Experience.
I am horrified to think of what the slobs can think of next. I am scared to say James Rolfe Onlyfans, because knowing the slobs next weeks podcast will be about the sex positions that take the least time to cum durring.

James talking about shit he likes was infinitely more interesting than the slob cutting in angrily and forcing him to stay "on topic." The slob's topic? "Should TMNT 3 been a Bill & Ted crossover?" Fucking fat retard.

Shit like that shows how little the slobs and James connect. James is at his best when he is allowed to rant about stupid small things that don't really matter in the end , or just whatever he feels like ranting about. The slobs however, they are more used to making more "focused" content that just does not work with James, since either he can't add anything to the convo, or the slobs just talk over him every time he tries to add things.

Honestly, I would be more down to see a podcast of just James ranting about dumb stuff in movies. One of my favorite videos from him is the rant he made about cardboard in Dracula. Its such a dumb thing to get worked up about, and somehow James makes it pretty interesting and funny. A whole hour of that would be so much better then a hour of the slobs.

Obviously the channel is having a lot of problems (understatement of the year), but I think the main recurring one is that James Rolfe himself never really understood what his strengths were as a content creator. He values high production while his fans love the DIY look... he thinks he needs to pose as a "film curator" while the fans just want him to talk about the last thing he watched... He insists that movies are his medium of choice while everybody sees him as the pioneer of silly youtube videos... And now, there's even this whole music making thing, which is incredibly ill-inspired.

I'm all for him pursuing the projects he's the most passionate about; but since he "doesn't have time for that" and conciders his youtube channel to be his bread and butter, wouldn't it make more sense to refocus on what actually made him successful in the first place? It certainly wasn't podcasting.

Honestly I have no idea who to blame. I don't know if its the slobs, or James that are pushing all of this crappy content as of late. Before I would have just blamed the slobs, but with everything thats come out lately I think James has more to do with it then we think.

I'm worried that them throwing everything at the wall will turn into something even more retarded. I know I joked about this, but if we ever get an onlyfans for James, then I will give up on him even more then I already have.

I blame Justin... after all he's the producer of the channel and he's even the one who convinced James to turn his private guitar playing into a full band (source: Podcast #1)
This is why you really have to be careful with who you let into your inner circle.

Semper fi for listening to that tiresome podcast.

This, if the podcast started at least 5 years ago, and he co-hosted with Mike and Bootsy/Kyle/etc instead of the slobs, it would have been way more enjoyable, we would have gotten some autistic moments, specially from Mike, but it would make for more natural conversations about whatever they have in mind.

Even then, it's not the best format for James, it's just not his element.

It's way too long. M&J Mondays were around 10 minutes each episode and it was its biggest strength. Nobody has that much to talk about what happened last week, life is not that exciting. The only way to keep a weekly podcast so long like that is with guests or a rotating cast.

But I never liked podcasts anyway so I don't understand the appeal. Background noise for me is music and a bunch of nobodies is never going to top that. But we live in weird times, EFAP is a thing after all.

I don't know why I decide to watch it.

Intro Animation: Starts with how later in the podcast James talking about himself being so angry he hit some trees with a tree branch (because his Final Fantasy 3 progress got wiped). Not a good clip to start off the episode. I like how this time they didn't even say "James & Mike Monday"(s). The crew introduced themselves awkwardly. Also Kieran talked about how he didn't know what's his job was during the introduction. 5/10

Watcha Doin'
: James talked about Monster Madness. Wait hold on, this one lasted for not even a minute? Oh yeah, because even this part is split into several parts now. 2/10

Rent a Pal Movie Review
: Ryan brought up the movie to James and James gave his thoughts on it. Really nothing much. Boring. Kieran talked about him watching "I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson". Boring as well. 3/10

Some Great Beers
: Also part of "Watcha Doin'", where Justin talked about River Horse beers. Also discussion about IPAs. And sperging about how Stone Cold Steve Austin wasn't doing IPAs correctly whatever that is, I don't know. All that tangent for Justin to continue talking about River Horse briefly. Still boring. 2/10

Worst Gaming Nightmares (Main Topic)
: Okay, this should hopefully be something the crew can't fuck up, but unfortunately even this part is a letdown. James talked about his bad experience with Final Fantasy 3 on SNES where his progress was wiped. The crew later talked about Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger and memory cards. Justin talked about how he beat Resident Evil and Metal Gear without saving. Kieran talked about how his brother-in-law had bad experience with playing Metal Gear Solid on a launched version of PS1. 4/10

Editing Software and Art School
: This part is actually longer than the "Worst Gaming Nightmares" at 14 fucking minutes. It's just the crew sperging about their editing softwares and "Final Cut" and their experiences with editing some of the previous videos e.g. "Hearts on Fire" Rex Viper music video and "Vegas Stakes" episode and Kieran talked about him at art school or something I don't know and art equipment, I don't feel like elaborating on this one because I had little interest. Adding one point because Kieran talked about how his roommate used someone's eBay account which was left open to buy five thousand rubber nipples for baby bottles and this one actually caught my interest in this fourteen minute borefest. I like how at the end they finally realised they were supposed to talk about the main topic which was "Worst Gaming Nightmares". 3/10

Snoop Dogg and Steve Urkel's Weed (Something Else)
: The crew decided to change topic. James talked about Steve Urkel and his weed "Purple Urkle" and Snoop Dogg made an appearance in it. Booooooring. There's some hint about there may be a topic about weed experiences in a future podcast episode, even then James said the last time he smoked weed was 20 years ago. Oh yeah and Kieran (or Justin? I don't know this podcast is fucking boring) ate some brownie that had weed or something. 2/10

Conan O'Brien
: Conan smoked weed with Seth Rogan. Some stuff about Conan the crew were discussing which I had no interest. 2/10

Ever Play a Game You Forgot The Title of?
: James then switched topic about video games and it's about playing games they were trying to find the name of. James talked about an arcade game he was trying to find the name of (apparently it's Galaxian 3). 3/10

Fan Q&A - TMNT III with Bill & Ted
: Once again, still 3 questions. The first question is if TMNT III would've been better as a time travelling crossover between the turtles and Bill & Ted (What the fuck kind of question is this?). James then talked about how he actually watched the original trilogy with his kids and despite his famous AVGN episode trashing the movie as if it's the worst movie ever due to his character, in actuality, to James, it's not that terrible and he thought there's worse films out there and he's just disappointed. 4/10

Fan Q&A - Will Movie Theaters Go Extinct?
: Second question, asking whether movie theaters would be almost completely phased out similar to arcades. James thought it felt that way to him. Kieran disliked going to movie theaters even as a kid and the crew talked about their experiences in movie theaters. 5/10

Top Gun Maverick and Shifting Releases
: The part where the movie kept on changing the release date, I don't know. Justin finally answered the 2nd question with "I don't know". 3/10

Rocky IV's Re-edits and Paulie's Robot
: Oh wait, you thought there's only three questions based on what the crew said earlier? Too bad, there's only two questions for the Q&A. Not gonna bother elaborating on this part either. The crew ended the podcast with no mood at all. 2/10

Overall Score (not an average): 3/10

Boring. It really feels like the crew aren't interesting enough to even do an interesting podcast at all. They kept on going on tangents and it's so boring. I'm not gonna watch future podcast episodes and even if I were to decide to watch them I would most likely just listen it at the background and not watching the video (which makes the setup for the podcast useless) and I'll just give my thoughts in very few sentences. No time, I refuse, etc.

The whole podcast just screams "we want to throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks". Jame's channel is becoming every other generic youtube channel like watchmojo, but its ran by a boomer.

Typing James' name in google has him listed as a "filmmaker" and not AVGN. I know I spelled his name wrong, but doing so caused google to show this
