Didn't even watch the last two podcasts because "no time" or not bothered. Maybe in the future when I decide to watch all Cinemassacre videos uploaded this year.
  1. First level starts and he talks about the bad soundtrack but never shows us how bad is it. I mean yes, you can still hear it but it's blocked by James' "trying too hard" chill voice.
  2. Oh finally a Castlevania reference like how the old AVGN used to do. Too bad it's the first Castlevania one and not the second one which was actually the one AVGN referenced it often back then.
  3. The comparison between with the Sonic springs and the springs in Greendog is really weird for me since he says along the lines of "at least the springs get you to get items or secret passageways" but even then some of the springs in Sonic games actually sends you back and worse when you are running fast so I have no idea what is he on about.
  4. AVGN blaming SEGA Genesis' soundchip for the music sounding like shit is so weird. I'm not even a huge fan of the SEGA Genesis but even then music in general on the Genesis isn't that bad, and the music for Greendog being shown is actually fine despite being ripoffs.
  5. "Happy BIRTHDAY... FUCK YOU!" you can hear some offscreen laughter. This did get a giggle from me but the offscreen laughter kinda ruins it. Or maybe it's an intake of an outtake. Doesn't matter.
  6. "I'm gonna drop this game in real lava!" And then shows obvious fake effects of AVGN throwing the game into volcano-like lava, and then quickly jumps to the game being actually burnt........ on molten rocks. Meh.
I won't fault James for actually putting more effort for this one compared with most of the episodes in 2021, but I still think this is really below average. I think James really shouldn't review any retro SEGA-related games unless it's really really bad like Dark Castle (which is a great episode for me) since he's not really attached to the retro SEGA consoles.

Since people brought up about his upcoming 200th episode, I think "Swamp Thing" for the NES might be his pick since it is one of the notorious NES games. It might be a good Christmas present if James continues to do AVGN episodes once a month (since this month's is 197th episode, December would be the 200th one) but on the other hand I'm still keeping my expectations low.

What big bad game he has left to review?:

200th episode could be a good game like the Earthbound and SMB3 ones though.

He did cover Bubsy 3D in one of his Christmas Wishlist episodes.

If he were to cover one of the games there for his 200th episode, maybe "Ninjabread Man" and some skit involving Data Design Interactive which might be entertaining, If it's about good games, maybe A Link to the Past.

The only really notable thing about Greendog imo, is that it's one of the uglier looking Genesis games, along with Awesome Possum, some sprites and tiles in those games just look like barf.

Other than that, it's not review worthy, but i guess Justin and/or Kieran really wanted to get that jab at the Genesis soundchip out there, yet they used a Genesis remix of the AVGN theme for this episode.

Ninjabread man is my first pick, and hell he could just do every Data Design Interactive game at the same time since they are literally copy paste. Throw in a joke saying that LJN became DDI, or have Fred Fuchs as the designer. Postal 3 would also be pretty funny since the jokes write themselves but that is a little too modern for james. (although, he could never top Civvie 11's review). If not then I would say Simpsons wrestling.
