Just because someone comes to work in a foreign country doesn't mean they are suddenly beholden to liking everything about it. Some people just aren't ever going to be prepared for what living in Japan is like, even if they are more predisposed to caring about its culture than most. And some people just have really bad experiences. Its all just unfortunate.

Then they should fuck off to wherever the fuck that they came from or where they think that they’ll be happy.

To just sit in a country where all you do is complain about it is some DSP tier behavior. Japan itself is basically their “detractor and main aloh” rolled up in one.

Any advice I have for going to Japan is Tokyo is a an overrated nightmare. Neat for a short stay but go to the countryside.

The natural beauty of the island has is bliss.
True, the best places are Hokkaido as a whole, and Osaka, that's because she's the second-best girl of Azumanga, but that's besides the point

Only go to Tokyo if you like waiting in line for stuff, Kyoto if you like matcha and being oblivious to the subtle jabs the locals throw at tourists, and Osaka if you like trashy nightlife and greasy food.
If you want to venture outside the main metropolitan areas learn some of the language unless you want to suffah, gaijin

Starting to learn Japanese when you're over 40 sure was a bad idea. After over year of learning I can barely understand the basics.. will it ever get any better? I do plan on visiting Japan next year and wanted to at learn speak it a bit, but it feels like I bit a bit more than I can chew.

will it ever get any better?
Depends on how you want to use the language.
The most practical way to get around in person would probably be to not worry about grammar. As long as you can say "subject + verb" your point will likely get across, listening and comprehension will be hell anyway so get used to gestures.
For reading, the most foundational part would be to learn all the beginner kanji and try spotting those in the more compicated ones

I always found both pretty cool aesthetically. Ads tend to be shit but when utilized in a collage format like this in a place that's specifically made for you to look for/find stores and restaurants it fits. There's an art to the layout of it all that's oddly pleasing to look at.
Never gonna forgive them from bricking up the road in times square though. Place has gone to hell since they did that.

Isn't spoken japanese very hard to understand, even for natives? I heard that it has to do with the amount of syllables they say per second on average and that there's very few different phonetic sounds when comoared to other languages

Is there any good post-WW2 Japanese movies? Thought the scenes in Minis One showing what Tokyo was like post war was pretty interesting stuff.

I remember when the live action GitS movie came out even the Japanese needed subtitles for Beat Takashi since he just mumble slurs his way through the movie lol

Recently there was a situation where some Chinese piece of shit spray painted the word "Toilet" and pissed on the Yasukuni Shrine's stone pillar.

In a separate incident at another shrine, some Korean dipshit was filmed smoking inside the main shrine area.

It's all so tiresome...I fucking hate these pieces of shit like you wouldn't believe.

I wonder why the Police can't simply maintain a permanent presence at major shrines where shit like this happens. That would solve a lot of the issues.
Kill chinks, behead chinks etc. I haven't seen foolish chink behaviour apart from tourists clogging sidewalks before but i see many of them at the train station at the end of tourist season with rather dazed expressions, asians in general are not ready for the cultural enrichment virtually any european capital has on offer.

In Tokyo, you can get pizza and beer from a vending machine, sit down and eat it on a park bench at 2AM without having to worry about anything. You can't do that anywhere in America.
I loved the sake vending machines when i was over, in my country machines that offer alcoholic drinks have been gone since the 90's. Scouted one out that did not need a jap passport to pull drinks from and it was my go-to whenever i wanted a smoke and stroll at night time and wasn't in the mood to deal with 7/11 clerks, though that was always rather uncomplicated. Truth on your last sentence, i'm not a yank but it's the same here.

One of my best experiences in Tokyo (PL be damned) was standing at Shibuya station, trying to figure out the train plan. I was hopelessly lost and i guess it showed because some lady in her 70's came over and asked me in perfect, accent-free english where i wanted to go and even brought me to the correct train tracks and saw me off, i never have experienced anything like it in my bughive.

Edit: Speaking of smokes, i was still smoking back then and i loved how dirt cheap cigarettes were, a packet of Marlboros was 3,20€ when they already approached the 8€+ mark back home. I also think i never met a japanese male who did not smoke.
In the arcades, particularly the music game area, there are signs in English and other languages that clearly say no photos/videos (mainly to prevent gaijin tourists from posting all those "hurr durr look at these japanese players are so pro" clips on social media w/o the players' permission) and yet on multiple occasions I've seen foreigners trying to sneak one anyway.
Witnessed the same, even saw white tourists getting chewed out (politely) by staff and continuing to film/take pics the second the staffer left them alone. Being over there generally made me question a lot of tourist behaviour, how hard can it be to abide the jap rules?
"in my country this, in my country that, I could go back at any minute and not miss anything about this place"
Yank expats to a T, no exceptions and not limited to Japan. Canadians or other european expats are not like that in my experience.
it's like germany
I fucking wish.
Kyoto is amazing if you are into japanese culture as a whole and not a hopeless weeb. The cultural heritage that city has rivals my hometown's. Loved it there.

Sorry for the endless quoting.

Chinks amassing at train stations with dazed expressions and buying lots of shit and clearing out stores at the expense of the locals is a much better alternative to niggers/muslims at train stations with murderous expressions and stealing your shit (niggers) or raping your shit (muslims). Kill niggers/muslims, behead niggers/muslims etc.

But yeah Asians are nowhere near ready for cultural enrichment. The Japanese live in a safe crime-free society and they don't have the knowledge, the strategy or the mindset/mentality to deal with nigger looters or Muslim rapists if it should happen. Even back home in the US, American-Asians (especially the elderly) for decades have been victimized by niggers and they (Asian Americans) can't even stop that.

Japan aren't even defending themselves from wokism/DEI (which will lead to cultural enrichment). Leftists on Twitter also take advantage of Japanese "niceness/kindness" by attacking Japanese anime artists and the artist, instead of responding "I'm an artist who believes in freedom of expression and I have the right to draw what I want, how I want without your approval" they often cower in the face of criticism, delete their art and issue an apology. Now, creative/artistic types regardless of sex/race/culture tend to be mentally weak/prone to agreeableness, so it being a Japanese artist just makes it worse when it comes to dealing with leftists.

Neither did Sweden, or any other countries that have been "enriched" since 2012.

Shinzo Abe got fucking murdered in broad daylight. Also mass stabbings and crossbow murders are a thing. Then there are also the monsters from the US army who like to use their dicks to "culturally enrich" japanese women in Okinawa. Crime free, my ass.

Nowhere in the world is crime free, not even the Garden of Eden.
But compared to the US as a whole, it's pretty damn safe. Every "mass stabbing" in Japan where 5 people get stabbed and 1 die is national news, meanwhile every nigger mass shooting with 4 dead in Detroit or something doesn't even make the local paper. It's a sample bias thing.

Also crossbows have been illegal for a little while now unfortunately. Here a police poster in the train station:

PS: The US army rapists are always shitskins. We see them on TV, and even when the face is blurred, you always have brown pixels.

You guys are sending me on a dreadful trip down memory lane when it comes to high profile incidents of niggers committing rapes and murders in Japan:

1) The 1995 Katsuyama Killing Incident

3 nigger marines used to go to this village in Okinawa called Katsuyama. They repeatedly kidnapped women and raped them. Villagers got fed up, ambushed the niggers and killed them. The bodies were hidden in a cave for decades.

2) The 1995 Okinawa Rape Incident

3 nigger marines abducted a 12 year old Okinawan girl, raped her and killed her. After getting out of prison and going back to the US, 1 of them committed a murder suicide after abducting, raping and killing another American girl.

3) 2006 Yokosuka Killing

A nigger Navy seaman named William Oliver Reese robbed and killed a 56 year old Japanese woman. He beat her for 11 minutes and she died of a ruptured kidney. The nigger is serving life in Japanese prison.

4) 2008 Yokosuka Killing

A nigger Navy seaman named Olatunbosun Ugbogu (My God, these names are just so niggerish) robbed and killed a taxi driver. The nigger is serving life in Japanese prison.

5) 2017 Okinawa Killing

A nigger contractor for the Marines named Kenneth Shinzato (the nigger was married to a Japanese woman and legally took her last name) beat, raped and killed a young Okinawan lady. He is now serving life in a Japanese prison.

Mind you, these are just the ones that you find out in the open when you do searches on absolutely pozzed places like Google and Wikipedia...imagine how many more are undocumented ?

If mankind didn't have to deal with niggers, then imagine where we would be now.

That's awfully reddit of you to take my statement as literal. Obviously crime exists everywhere but if we're talking violent physical crime of innocent civilians then there are few places in the world that can compete with Japan and those that do are fellow Asian countries like South Korea and Singapore and maybe a few of the Nordic countries. I can also think of few countries that has cities like Tokyo in which young single tourist women can truly feel safe walking by themselves at night without a male escort.

If you need to use nigger US army servicemen as examples to support your point, then you're reaching.

You could at least give us links or something, you know?

And there's a lot of physical crime in Japan, but it commonly happens as part of worker abuse/exploitation rather than a yakuza going towards you and punching you in the face, the recent BIGMOTOR controversy is a good example

I find Asian crime to always go 0-100. It's weird either they kill everyone and burn half the city down or it's nothing important. Like that case in S Korea that changed what they can release of the criminal, some kid killed two parents and burnt their house down leaving two daughters to report it. Apparently he claims he did it because one of the daughters wouldn't go out with him in high school
