Japanese Jace captured by ISIS

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
No offense, but putting it in any lolcow section is sort of :ween:. Whether or not this guy was lulzy, he's been tortured and likely killed. No humor in that, man.

True, but that's why I asked in chat first, and I only found out about the ISIS claims after the topic was posted.

I'm going to say this: it's his own fucking fault if he got executed. Airsoft is NOT military training. It's paintball for army wannabes. Just because you have a realistic looking toy of a firearm doesn't make you a Marine, SEAL, PMC, or even a fucking mall cop. It makes you a wannabe.

There's nothing wrong with a game or two of airsoft once in a while, but the guys who take it too seriously ruin it for everybody. That being said, not everybody CAN join the military. But I have known quite a few current and ex military guys who have done airsoft as well, so don't talk down on them.

This guy though, definitely looking to win a Darwin Award in that regard.

I know not everyone can join the military. My knee kept me from joining, something I deeply regret.

And you're right, there's nothing wrong with airsoft as a game. It's even been used as a training tool for law enforcement and such. I'm aiming my comment at these guys like Japanese Jace and others who feel that just playing a game makes them soldiers.

For the record:

JAPANESE NATIONAL HARUNA YUKAWA CAPTURED IN SYRIA WAS PLAYING “SURVIVAL GAME”

A source with knowledge of a Japanese national captured by the Islamic State in Syria says the man was an obsessive military role-player who wanted to go to a war zone to impress his friends.

The source, who cannot be named, says that the captured man, Haruna Yukawa, who allegedly fought with the Free Syrian Army, used to run a “fun” military surplus store, Hidayaka International (hidakaya-international.co.jp), whose site is no longer working. The store was intended for role playing games and fun, according to the source. Mr. Yukawa was not a private military contractor or mercenary, and had no military experience, the source said, though he had opened a website for a security company, PMC (Private Military Company) Co Ltd (http://privatemilitary.jp/). However, the company is nothing more than the website and had not actually taken part in any security contracts, the source said.

Instead, Mr. Yukawa wanted to have “the experience of a private military company”. An email request for comment to PMC has so far gone unanswered. Mr. Yukawa went to Syria to impress his friends from the extreme military roleplaying community, and also because he wanted to show his friends that he was “like a real veteran soldier”, the source said. Many of Mr. Yukawa’s friends actually believed he was a real soldier, and that is one reason why he went to Syria, the source said — to prove himself.

According to the source, Mr Yukawa was well-known in the small Japanese “military fun” community and had his own store, the source said. Mr. Yukawa also visited several Japanese politicians, including Japanese nationalist politician and former Air Self Defense Force military officer Toshio Tamgami. A claimed picture of the Mr. Yukawa with Mr. Tamagami is below: According to the International Business Times, the regional representative of nationalist group “Gambare Nippon” (Stand Firm, Japan), Kimoto, also said Yukawa was active in the group. Mr. Yukawa would have entered Syria via Turkey, the source said.

Before going to Syria he visited Iraq with Japanese journalist Kenji Goto. Mr Goto allegedly met Mr. Yukawa in Syria and is unaware that he is a “fun soldier” not a real mercenary, according to the source. Mr Goto was interviewed on Monday about the capture of Mr. Yukawa.

You could say the exact same damn thing about Camp of Doody and other FPS games as well. When I used to play (and I regret it now) there were a lot of guys on the mic claiming military training and saying that it's the reason for their godlike K/D and stuff like that. (yeah right) And yeah, it sucks when seemingly minor things like that get in the way. Oh well, you seem to be doing all right now from what you've told me about yourself.

Going back to Japanese Jace, there are places where you can get PMC training if you really have your heart set on going to Syria or some other conflict zone. Of course, the egos of him and other similar people probably tell them that "Oh we don't need that, years of airsoft made me way better than any of those fucks anyway. What could they possibly teach me?"

Um, maybe they could teach you how NOT to get captured by ISIS? :jace:

Also, back to airsoft and wannabes, I have a funny story about that. PM me sometime.

He's even fat and wearing Judge Dredd sunglasses in this video. This is fucking uncanny.

Sempaa Federisu, Deegu Nashiun!

I'm pressing 1 for you all day just for this, DeagleDad.

On a more serious note, it's amusing to me how he struggles with the selector, and even basic fucking aiming the thing. Then again, he's probably only played with airsoft M4s and not airsoft AKs, because airsoft AKs are for terrorist raghead wannabes or whatever. Real PMCs use airsoft M4s after all.

I'm not sure about this. NO-ONE is this stupid. Really, guys, how do we know he's really in Syria? He could have just pre-recorded that video and dubbed it over later. I bet he's a paid actor and all the news sites are in on it. Whoever the writers for this show are, they're really jumping the shark with this one. I mean, come on, beheaded on LiveLeak? Get real.

Personally my money's on holograms, swamp gas and a weather balloon.

I want to believe this is a hoax. I really do. But after Operation Tupacalypse, I don't know what to believe anymore.

And yes, people this stupid do exist. However, their older brothers won't let them buy plane tickets to Israel.

According to the first article, Japanese Jace even visited real Japanese politicians. How the hell did he get that amount of status from playing with airsoft guns?

By telling the politicians that they're real guns? I dunno. Politicians aren't the brightest people either.

Expect this trend to continue as more grown adults choose to play "airsoft" instead of golf.
I don't know what to say, other than "I hate the middle east".
The Middle East didn't make this guy a retard.

He just went up and had his photo taken with them. Pretty easy to do with politicians (especially ex-politicians) at events.

To be fair though, as stupid as he may be, I don't think he deserves to be executed on camera. He's just some geek that really likes guns and military type roleplaying and stuff like that.

Just putting that out there. Saying these things is probably not going to save him though. (:_(

Is it all hitting a little too close to home, bro?
