What Stamp is describing as a desirable behavior is what we call Cafeteria Catholicism, as if you get to choose what you can take of your religion and what you can let behind.
That ain't how it works. If you're Jewish, Soup, there are aspects that we assume rightfully you do or believe because you're supposed to follow them. You shouldn't add or remove them at will. Otherwise, you really aren't a believer, you're just larping the traditions for the picture, but you're not following the faith.
Unlike Catholicism, Judaism doesn't have any real statements of faith or organized religion-wide leadership and different Jews believe wildly different things. On the one side, most Jews are de facto atheists, and on the other side, Hasids are like the Amish where even other Jews are like "wut." Even within Judaism, the discussion about whether it's an ethnicity, a religion, or some nebulous overlap is there.
I ain't here to argue with any of that or tell anyone they're doing it wrong.
What I think is LUNACY is that a man of Sanhedrin's age is just now realizing that there's diversity in Judaism, and he's up here on TikTok telling us how it be like he just discovered a new continent.
In my experience, it's usually around middle school (11-14) when little Christian kids start realizing that their peers go to different churches and believe different things. Your one friend is Mormon and your other friend is AME, but your third friend has pictures of saints and shit all over her house, and you go home and ask dad why WE don't have pictures of saints, and your dad says something really racist.
