Minecraft is actually the worst possible example for him to have used. If he had any knowledge of the game, he would know that running a server is pretty easy and has even been reduced down to just having a mod installed nowadays. From its inception in 2009, multiplayer was a feature, which likely was just an executable Notch ran, considering later versions allowed you to run a server that way. Furthermore, Minecraft is not a live-service game. He even lists out examples of live-service games later, none of which are like Minecraft. But we all know he used it as an example to try and make people go, "Wow. Minecraft wouldn't have existed? Now I'm against this thing.""Shit like Minecraft would not exist."
Edit: I should've refreshed the thread. At least I know me and others are on the same page
