Transcripts from interviews with accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre include the claim that she witnessed Clinton on Little St. James in the U.S. Virgin Islands — dubbed “Pedophile Island,” the site of Epstein's alleged crimes. Clinton has denied ever setting foot on the island. Among the more than 2,000
pages of unsealed records stemming from Giuffre's defamation lawsuit against Maxwell, who was
arrested earlier this month for allegedly conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse underage girls, are allegations about British royal Prince Andrew, Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz, and others.
“When you say you asked him ‘why is Bill Clinton here’ — where was ‘here’?” Giuffre’s lawyers asked in a transcribed interview.
Giuffre replied, “On the island.” She said that one time on the island, Epstein and Clinton were there with “Ghislaine” and “Emmy” (a likely reference to Maxwell’s former assistant Emmy Tayler) and that “there was two young girls that I could identify. ... It was just two girls from New York.” Giuffre said she was staying at one of the villas on the island. The lawyer asked Giuffre if “sexual orgies” were “a regular occurrence on the island,” and Giuffre said that was accurate.
“Do you have any recollection of Jeffrey Epstein specifically telling you that ‘Bill Clinton owes me favors’?” Giuffre’s lawyers asked her.
“Yes, I do. It was a laugh though. He would laugh it off. You know, I remember asking Jeffrey what’s Bill Clinton doing here kind of thing, and he laughed it off and said, 'Well, he owes me a favor.' He never told me what favors they were,” Giuffre said, adding, “He told me a long time ago that everyone owes him favors. They’re all in each other’s pockets.”
A statement released last July by Clinton's press secretary, Angel Urena, claimed that Clinton “has never been to Little St. James Island."
Clinton’s statement also claimed that “in 2002 and 2003, President Clinton took a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein's airplane: One to Europe, one to Asia, and two to Africa." But a
Washington Examiner review of the flight manifest records shows that Clinton actually went on at least 27 flights on Epstein’s “Lolita Express,”
totaling at least six trips, not four. Clinton’s statement leaves off a trip from Florida to New York and ignores a second lengthy trip across Asia.
Clinton has
refused to respond to the
Washington Examiner’s questions about these falsehoods for more than a year.
The court records make it clear that “Jane Doe #3” is Giuffre and state that her allegations include that “Epstein also sexually trafficked the then-minor Jane Doe [#3], making her available for sex to politically-connected and financially-powerful people."
Maxwell, 58, Epstein's longtime friend, was
arrested in early July and
charged with conspiring with Epstein. Epstein, a registered sex offender and wealthy financier, was arrested last July on federal sex trafficking charges for allegedly abusing girls as young as 14. He was found dead in his Manhattan prison cell in August, which the New York City medical examiner
determined to be a suicide.
Giuffre said in a deposition that when she was underage, “I was working at Donald Trump’s spa in Mar-a-Lago and I was prompted by Ghislaine to come to Jeffrey’s mansion in Palm Beach that afternoon after work to make some extra money and to learn about massage.” Giuffre claimed that “Ghislaine told me that she wanted me to understand, began to take off my shirt and skirt, my white uniform from Mar-a-Lago, she also took off her shirt and got undressed, and so I was there with just my undies on, and she was completely bare.”
The court records show that Giuffre also alleged that “Epstein required Jane Doe #3 to have sexual relations with Dershowitz on numerous occasions while she was a minor."
"Dershowitz helped negotiate an agreement that provided immunity from federal prosecution in the Southern District of Florida not only to Epstein, but also to any potential co-conspirators of Epstein," the records claim.
Dershowitz
replied on Twitter on Friday: “All her accusations were made in suits she filed years ago. They were false then and now.”
Epstein served 13 months in county jail, where he was allowed out on work release and registered as a sex offender following a
2008 "sweetheart deal" brokered by Dershowitz with the Justice Department.
Giuffre also accused Prince Andrew of forcing her to have sex with him at Maxwell’s home in London and at Epstein’s homes in New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands when she was 17. Both Epstein and Andrew were
longtime friends of Maxwell.
A
photo from 2001 shows Andrew grinning with his arm wrapped around the waist of Giuffre at a party when she was 17 years old. Maxwell is smiling in the background. Court records show Giuffre said that “I gave it to the FBI” to make a copy in 2011. The unredacted court documents further show Giuffre was in “regular contact” with at least one FBI agent.
Court records show lawyers for two anonymous Epstein accusers told the court they were “seeking documents regarding Epstein’s lobbying efforts to persuade the government to give him a favorable plea arrangement, including efforts on his behalf" by Andrew and Dershowitz.
Prosecutors in the United States have been
seeking an interview with the British royal.
The
charging document against Maxwell alleged that “as a part and in furtherance of their scheme to abuse minor victims,” Maxwell and Epstein “enticed and caused minor victims to travel to Epstein’s residences in different states,” which Maxwell “knew and intended would result in their grooming for and subjection to sexual abuse” by Epstein.
Maxwell and Epstein both pleaded not guilty, and Andrew has denied any wrongdoing.
