I've been watching Jerma since 2013 and this is some sad shit to see. It's like an old friend becoming a crackhead, seeing them wither away every so often when you check on them. Feeling more and more uncomfortable around them as you spend less time around them. And suddenly just realizing they're not there anymore and moving on.

I wasn't aware of him before this thread but I think I posted something about him being the best or favorite daycare/kindergarten teacher or the equivalent of that because of the way he engages his audience. He can say no but he's probably not rude enough to tell them to fuck off.

He was always like this imo, dude is just very conflict avoidant. Preferring to be positive and only pushing back when things get REALLY bad. This used to be good for him, he was one of the few content creators who managed to exit the TF2 community and come out respected. People liked Jerma because he was friendly and entertaining. Something a lot of ego-driven youtubers have trouble doing.

Trouble is, he has a massive blind spot. Doesn't know that a lot of the worst shit is happening right under his nose. So he can't really call out gross behavior unless it's right in front of his face for upwards of minutes.

I don't think he's secretly in on it or anything. You can see that with the catboy shit that he treats like some community in-joke. He genuinely doesn't know some of his fans want to have sex with him.

Honestly he really doesn't have much skills, iirc he did graduate college with a degree in communications or something, but mainly videotaped weddings and occasionally was a substitute teacher at a school. He's definitely made enough money to be able to safely invest and live off of it as long as he's smart about it, but if his medical problems get worst I imagine he'll retire for that, but I think he's mentioned he'll probably be retired within 5 years anyways.

I like Jerma, although I've not been watching him for long. But from reading here he suffers from the problem a lot of streamers seem to have: His audience. Most male streamers audience's seem to be full of gay guys, trannies, kids without parents in their life, perverts (but I repeat myself). I have no problem with the occasional gay joke, I did that too when I was in online communites. Don't be creepy about it and its usually funny. And don't get me started on female streamers. 1/1000 of them are funny, and we don't even need to talk about their audience.

Everytime I make the mistake of looking deeper into a streamer or actually watching a streamer who interacts with his audience for a longer time, I die on the inside. Last streamer I watched for ~1 hour had so many fucking trannies tell him their sobstory. Nobody cares, dude, not even this guy. He is just being nice because he doesn't want to get canceled, but he does want your money. Stop forcing your bullshit on him and us. Also, go rope.

You ever see those bits where he starts laughing really hard and then starts going "Ow! Oh, my chest."? He's actually had chronic intercostal (chest/ribs/back) pain, think it's costochondritis, for ages and none of the doctors he saw really could tell him what the cause was, just some guesses. So he took a break for a while, trying to really figure out what was going on. I think he has some spinal disc issues, and he ended up getting things like a back brace, injections in his side for nerve blockers, and doing physical therapy. Don't know the overall current situation, though, since I haven't been watching him as much as I used to, so somebody might have more up-to-date info on things.

Jerma’s cancerous chat and fan base is one thing, but I think it’s clear that he doesn’t have much interest in streaming or playing most video games now. His true interests seem to center around producing larger comedic content, which was why he moved out to Las Vegas in the first place.

Yeah, he occasionally really enjoys some games, like FromSoftware stuff or rhythm games, but he goes on more tangents than ever before to disengage from actual gameplay. Current chat seems to eat this up as quirky, ADHD Jerma - he’s basically their imaginary friend at this point, even though it’s painfully obvious he doesn’t relate to them at all. The genuine enthusiasm he had on streams for something like the “Sorcery!“ games is never going to come back. Can‘t blame him for that - I’m about his age and rarely find the time or interest to play games when I could be indulging in a more satisfying hobby.

I do think having to interact with the current weirdos in chat probably had a big effect on that interest waning, as the skit streams don’t require him to constantly read/react to their inane parasocial rambling in the way game streaming does.

Yeah, I remember him saying that a while ago. Problem is most of the bigger streams he does honestly aren't that great. It's one of those things where the idea of it sounds good on paper but in execution it kind of falls apart.

The carnival was the first really big one he did and I remember it just being kind of ok. The "archaeology" stream was lame and the only interesting part was when he cracked open the geodes with the scientist at the end. I don't even remember what else happened in it other than him shilling his crappy knockoff Digimon cards which as far as I know still aren't for sale yet. Contrary to what most people say the dollhouse was probably the worst live action thing he's done. It was way too overproduced (despite at the same time also feeling very amateurish) with the meddling of Coinbase and Ludwig bringing it down a lot. The talent show was surprisingly decent, but I still liked it less than his normal streams.

The next big project he's planning on doing is the baseball stream and given his track record I don't have high hopes. I know it's unfair to expect something insanely professional from a guy who's basically doing the whole thing on his own budget, and if the zoomers in his chat eat it up that's probably all that really matters. I feel like he should just stick to what he's actually good at, which is screwing around in broken games and doing smaller scale stuff that he can do out of his room like building Nintendo Labo kits and the family dinner. He's going too big now and unfortunately I don't think he's really capable of pulling it off without a better crew and more money.

I fully understand what you mean but I have a feeling that user is part of a group of people on tumblr who have propped up during the start of the year, there was a huge callout on twitter about a ton of these weird jerma-nsfw and jerma real people fanfiction accounts that suddenly appeared and were spreading some fucking weird shit around.

Those same accounts when Jerma went public about being with his girlfriend immediately went on the offensive trying to say that Jerma groomed her, saw it on the discord and on twitter under multiple Jerma related posts.
They unironically believe that Jerma groomed her.
