Jerma985 - Because fuck it, let’s get a Jerma thread going. Meow.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
he's stated multiple times that people won't see those streams for like a year because he wants to do exactly what he wants to do with it and that if they think he's just going to have an outfit and cat ears on, they have another thing coming

i'm betting it's going to be a purely hellish full on person-sized cat playhouse where he acts like a disturbing half-human maniac for an hour and a half, or a real life jerma rumble again with how he's been talking about the scale of his more recent projects

or we all win and he just gets otto to chase him around for excersize before ending stream with no warning

As of the sus command in his stream, next stream is going to be Sat 10th around 2pm PST.

From what I've seen from people talking about it it's probably another update stream. I'd say it's not the end of his break but it'll be good to know how the timetable will be going forward for a return to regular streams and the bigger spectacle streams.

Besides that, thoughts on Grotto Beasts?

From a business standpoint it might be a solid one as people will buy it as merch and potentially get addicted to the TCG card pack nature. I sort of doubt that's the intention though as Jerma's never seemed like the kind of guy to devise money making schemes, he likely just thought the idea was cool. Whether or not Jerma has qualms about TCG or gacha shit from a gambling standpoint I don't know.

I did notice from some curious googling that all the listed artists on the cards can very easily be found on twitter. Let's hope that doesn't come back to bite him in the ass in the future.

While I'm not interested in Grotto Beasts it's the kind of thing his newer fans are likely to eat up. This is working on the assumption it was not a throwaway stream joke and instead an actual merch or tcg venture he wants to pursue.

Black and White was such a chore to play as a child
Admittedly I loved Black and White when I was younger, even if I could barely understand what the game wanted me to do or get a hold of its mechanics.

Jerma's B&W streams were fucking amazing. Between the unpredictability of the creature and him barely figuring the game out despite making a deliberate effort to read tutorials. The meltdown on the trailing mission was perfect and the moment that the guide video he used was from an active viewer who changed the description to "Jerma sux" or something along those lines was gold. That was a godly meltdown moment. If I find a clip of it I'll edit it into this post.

I also remember chat having its own meltdown separate of his about calling the cow MEGA MILK. The problem half of chat had was that the source of the mega milk meme is an "incest manga" and that was apparently objectionable despite the meme itself being ancient. Chat was divided down the middle with people continuing to spam mega milk and the other half bitching and moaning about it. I don't think he ever conclusively said anything about it other than "No I'm not calling the cow Mega Milk" :story:

I despise jerma'a fanbase but damn if he isn't funny. I know it was already discussed but I hate the all the fucking cat boy fan art from all his thirsty underage tranny fans.
I genuinely hope he takes the catboy stream so seriously that it just ends all of it, right there, instantly, like Obama doing the 'Thanks Obama' meme.

If anyone can do it, it's Jerma.

Fuck, he's gonna be cutting back heavily on streaming. Wish I had watched more of his stuff live. (:_(

Nearly 20,000 viewers! I wonder how many Vinny will pull when he returns?

A summary of the start of last night's update stream:
  • Had some injections to help with his chronic pain problem, however the problem has not been fixed and doctors have said it may never go away so he is adjusting his schedule around this.
  • Familial issues also factoring into his decision to dial back streaming and internet presence.
  • He's moving to a 1-2 times a week streaming schedule to alleviate his need to take months-long breaks.
  • Change to streaming is potentially (very likely from how he describes) permanent and he's making these changes to fit his life situation.
  • Reinforces his stance that he doesn't care for the money, subs, or viewers impacting his income at all due to lower stream counts.
  • With the caveat of "If Covid is more under control," streams are likely to be a lot more active in the coming 5-6 months. I'm assuming he means more Carnival, Archaeology type streams.
  • Grotto Beasts is a real, physical TCG he is producing.
  • Grotto Beasts will be getting merch.
Rat Movie Reanimated premiere, intermission between announcements more or less.
  • Streams are likely to be on Saturday every week, some time that at least gives some leniency to EU viewers.
  • Jerma985 10 year anniversary is in June.
  • Restating that to continue streaming he needs to make sure he's having fun, and the schedule change is part of that.
All of this makes sense to me. He's had that chronic pain issue for so long I'm not surprised he's getting sick of it and adjusting his streaming schedule around dealing with it regularly rather than taking long breaks infrequently. More consistency in the long run will be better for everyone I think. Hope the familial issues he mentioned are nothing too serious.

It is very interesting that in the wake of the Vinny situation that a lot of streamers seem to be taking the time to outline their plans & potential futures in streaming. It's like it was a landmark moment for a ton of them that caused a ripple so big they all collectively reconsidered their options and took the time to inform their communities on their future plans. Or it's just a huge coincidence. Regardless, I'm glad Jerma is taking the time to reorient streams around his continued health. I think it's better for both himself and his audience in the long run. Nice to see him back.

Long con idea; jerma adopts/fosters a cat and does a whole stream of the cat playing in a room while he voices over it as "catboy jerma"

Jerma released a Rat Movie reanimated video abit ago and I just got around to watching it, it was okay.

As expected it was a mixed bag with some parts being better (that’s just a thing that comes with reanimated projects as a whole) but this ones seemed to have alot more production value then usual when it comes to these things.

I think most of the scenes were good if not passable with only a few being too weird/basic or something I personally just didn’t like, also thankful they were light on the “imposter sus” meme.

Something weird tho and this wasn’t even the video’s fault but I couldn’t stop thinking of Jerma himself when listening to it cuz I watched the rat movies before watching Jerma‘s regular contact itself.

I've been watching a lot more Jerma than I used to and have even been able to subscribe on Twitch and catch him live. I like the schedule he has because I feel like it's easier for a lot of people to watch him live. Anyway, Jerma's fucking funny and I'm glad he's still around.

If anyone watches Pete Dorr, he's also been experience back issues related to streaming...I think this might become a trend among famous streamers. They sit way too much.

So, it's pretty much agreed by anyone who's watched him for even only like, 10 hours; that Jerma has some form of autism or neurological sort of disorder, right? Saying shit like "I look at something and think of twitch emotes" is the DEFINITION of autism. You can't tell me otherwise.

He has some severe ADD, and its not a recent thing. Golden Retriever brain was used to describe him a couple of years ago, just watch any house flipper stream and see how many times he pivots. I think that's what I like about him, his personality is what makes the streams good, not the game.

I'd agree. He's admitted on stream a few times to having ADD or ADHD. I think it works in his favor though because of how much its linked to his humor. It's the reason I doubt he'd do well at all in any group setting and I think he's mentioned not particularly liking streaming in groups unless it's on a very focused game.

More to the point the way he handles his streams usually means a net benefit from his lack of focus, because it sets him up to be extremely unpredictable and entertaining since you have no idea what stupid shit he's going to do on a whim next. His general aptitude for being funny is also a factor. I'd say both of these linked together form the crux of what makes him enjoyable.

Sometimes it comes around to bite him in the ass where he'll get stuck focused on the wrong thing but it's not that often.

Unrelated, but Jerma returning from 10 years in the spire in Fable 2 to discover his kid was black and his manic laughter while trying not to address it was hilarious. I was hoping he'd immediately turn off safety and blast his wife but the drawn out laughter into the level 5 vortex killing multiple villagers and his wife, causing the game to immediately delete his child, was pretty good.

Honestly, I always wanted to get this off my chest, but 'when the imposter is sus' was the unfunniest meme to be associated with Jerma and it lasted for way too fucking long.
