Lily only feels bold enough to threaten a lawsuit because she knows the burden of proof is upon Courtney and, considering how long ago this all happened, would be difficult to prove. All Courtney has is her account versus Lily's and unless anyone else in their immediate family knew and wished to speak out in court against Lily (which seems unlikely, just considering Courtney is practically disowned by the Peets).
Like, SA cases are already difficult enough to prove in a court of law, as I understand because at some point all the 'evidence' has been flushed, so to speak. It becomes highly dependent on multiple people speaking out as either witnesses or as fellow victims. With Courtney being Lily's only alleged victim, it's not looking good.
What I'm saying is Lily is acting tough because she's basically swinging at a tree. Or a fence post. It's impotent and poses no real threat to her. I'm not a legal expert or anything though so take it all with a grain of salt.
