Another installment. Honestly though the art is starting to pick up a bit. No wonder these took so long.
I think this wraps up Gardevoirs character a little nicely however. I mean she apparently hates herself or something, so knowing that Lily is willing to choose her over parenthood must be pretty self assuring. From an observer's point of view however, I mean, choosing a pokemon over having a child? Have we gone off the deep end?

This sort of writing can work for slice of life I suppose, but it can only go on so long before you start to have character inconsistencies and shit like that. I mean, I'm pretty sure Val'Kyr became a clusterfuck of ideas and that's a possible reason he decided to re-boot it by creating an AU. Even his videos get that way sometimes, like a half-hour segment in his two hour long SU rant about ToR? That's like..a quarter of the length of the video devoted to something that has a loose connection at best and several people who dislike the video said they totally tuned out during this part.

You know, I would feel so much more into it and I would actually appreciate the "the problem is solved and the color returns to their lives" kind of thing as a beautiful comparison but Mikail's noodle art just ruins it again...

its funny because there was a tangent in the "Wank on, Wank Off" GoW video that more or less pointed this out, but didn't at the same time. The video refered to the whole "MOAR EPIC" for fanfiction writing, but the whole "this is being written in the moment with little planning" is half the other problem with most fanfics, and boy does it seem to show with this pokemon comic at times.

I think in the comic they said it was wrong to do. I would check but I have better things to be doing.
Also if someone were to cheat on me, you'd better fucking believe I would remind them every now and then. Or at least try to work through whatever problem they have.
Depending on context, reminding them isn't abusive. It'd be abusive if you were to rationalize abusing them by saying "well you cheated on me, you brought this on yourself" but the ask gave no indication of that happening.

Why any self respecting artist would even consider dating someone who clearly holds such thinly veiled hatred towards art is beyond me.

Don't get me wrong, Lily does have a point buried underneath all that BS, a good comic, movie, ect. will fall apart without a good story, but she's acting like good writers are just jumping out of the wood work wanting to work on these projects and are being ignored while good artists are getting all the attention. The thing is, good art in any form takes time and work to be good, and even then you still run the chance of it taking forever to get work or a following from it.

Writing, on the other-hand, has it's own set of issues, in that just about anyone with a decent imagination can write at a mediocre level, even well if given enough time, and that leads people thinking that hiring a writer is unnecessary. However, a good writer can see errors and think up things that someone who is only jumping into it could never do. However, just like becoming a great artist, becoming a great writer takes a lot of time and effort, which I can't really say Lily put into.

It almost seems like some sort of deep seeded jealousy on Lily's part, considering her history and who she dates, it does look like she holds some respect, even admiration for artists (seeing how much she gravitates towards them) but lacks the dedication to really buckle down and put the work in to getting decent at the craft. But thinking about it, it's more likely that, in her eyes, artists get attention easier then writers so she feels obligated to latch onto someone good at the craft for her shit to get noticed, leaving her bitter that her writing isn't good enough to stand on its own.

But who can say for sure?
