Ignore that she initially called it a mating bond. Just give Lily the benefit of the doubt here and ignore the verbiage she originally used-- it's a 'final bond', and the arc isn't called violate. Even divorced from those aspects, what about any of this boils down to 'a crazy weekend at Vegas'?

Mate on its own can mean friend to some people, again in furry circles, friend or partner (implied sexual on context) but ading -ing at the end doesnt mean your parterning up with someone, its just outright sexual.
Lily is known to hate metaphores because incompetant writer is incopetant, but just because you dislike a thing doesnt mean that thing magically evaporates into thin air. You can still be a bad writer and accidental your way into implying a topic you didnt intend. This is why proof reading is an actual job. they could pick up on subtexts, biases and other things the writer may have not noticed or intended, bring it up to them and suggest changes

It's an example of an extreme that's easy to understand (although it's more like a meme that I don't see being used in dub vs sub conversations in the way that Lily wants you to think) and saying they're mad at nothing" false argument from a false premise" is pure gaslight
and weebs care a lot about the sub accuracy more precisely about light novel adaptations, but it wouldn't be necessary to say that because the discussion is about the meaning of the dialogue in comparison to the original I don't know why Lily doesn't see the contradiction of saying that weebs give subs a pass.

Certain things take much longer to say in Japanese than they do in English, and vice versa. As a result, English dubs have to write their own dialogue to match the lip flaps of characters. Not only does this often make the dub dialogue sound stilted and unnatural, but it also can also ruin jokes and mangle characters. The best dubs usually completely change the dialogue of the original while still sticking to the spirit of what was being said. Yu Yu Hakusho is a good example of this.

His 4kids point is so stupid. The first time that I watched anime was Naruto dubbed and it was bad and we didn't have 4kids where I live. So when I started looking up anime online and discovered the subs I was totally hooked. I didn't even hear about all the 4kids differences until a few years later.
In my experience, a lot of dubs suck because 1. They can't get the emotions right most of the time or they sound way over the top (thinking about One Piece in particular or Naruto) and 2. It just looks more natural to me when I watch subs and I see the lips sync nicely with the sound.
To go to a whole other dub example, Disney movies translated in other languages: I've grown up with this particular language and years later when I heard the English version, it was pretty spot on. Now, you know how you like have Brazilian Portugese and European Portugese? (Not the languages of mine but I don't want to powerlevel from where I am). They sound pretty alike but still are different in a lot of ways. "Let it go" from Frozen sounded way better in my language than it did in that other one although it was kind of the same, just because they used a different translation of the song.
It matters if you really want to enjoy a cartoon or movie.

Also, this whole thing about how the translations are perfectly fine... it occurs to me that there's an infamous scene in Kingdom Hearts 3 where Riku and Mickey are talking on a beach. The exchange is thus:
Mickey: "Aqua... she's like Sora!"
Riku, horrified: "WHAAAAT."
Mickey: "No no no. Strong like Sora!"
Riku: "Oh, okay. Phew."
There is no context that makes this make sense. It makes zero sense, and the reason for that is because the original Japanese used a phrase that doesn't have any English equivalent. Like the concept itself is almost impossible to translate in any concise way. Whatever language Mickey originally used was implying that Aqua's behavior and attitude were similar to Sora's which Riku misinterpreted as meaning she was lackadaisical and lazy, which clashed with everything he'd been told about Aqua, hence his shock. The Japanese playerbase has no confusion about this scene, but the English translation? Utterly baffling.
Did Lily watch this cutscene and not notice how bizarre it is? Or did she just assume that was intentionally written that way and moved on? Speaking as somebody who didn't even play the game even I looked into this to see what the hell was going on. But Lily has expressed zero curiosity and zero ability to do any research so I guess that tracks.

I don't know what she did to the format of her blog because her sidebar and the links are gone, including the Ask redirect. I have no idea where the Ask button went, and when I went to navigate to it by URL it didn't work.
Might've been temporary, since obviously people were trying to talk to her about subs and translations so she probably closed the Ask box to stop that (while also sending herself a couple of anons making fun of the people who dared to take umbrage at her mistreating them), but...

There's something to say about how Liliana makes a huge deal about stalkers and how people who're obssesed with her are pathetic sad losers keeping up with every post she makes on tumblr, but she stills feels the compulsive need to respond to everything they say (like how that story about Rey's daughter or through convenient anons) and sprinkle absurd stories of how much more interesting and heroic she is. Stories that only people who follow her on tumblr will ever hear about.
I can't help to feel that on some level Liliana really enjoys the idea of having so many people pay attention to her, engagin with her and her words, and that truly is the only thought that makes me second guess still coming here to do just that.
