On that note, I don't get it. Jerry refuses to edit because Josh makes a comparison. And it isn't even really implied that he agrees with the implications, just that he thinks it's an accurate comparison. (One backed up by peer review) So this leads me to believe one of two things.

1.) Jerry doesn't want anything he doesn't like represented PERIOD because it makes him uncomfortable. Or...

2.) Jerry doesn't give his friends the benefit of the doubt in their ability to read contrary opinions. Like, ok, so what if Josh read those works? That doesn't mean anything, hell, when doing legitimate research it's good to check things on the other side for perspective.

Either way, Jerry can't seem to tolerate "derivative" works to the point that he refuses to even read/watch them. When I think about this and his chickenshit reaction to finding out InkRose listens to Christina Hoff Sommers, I get the idea that Jerry doesn't actually know as much about his opposition as he lets on.
