  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
okay, so this isnt' really anything incriminating and I wanted to share it last week but then everything last week happened and I couldn't find the time to do it because it wasn't' really appropriate to all the shit that was being covered. I guess it's sort of lighthearted as far as what we've been covering goes, but it's been in my head the entire time and I don't want it in there any longer and since it's a slow day I'll throw it to everyone regardless of whether it's relevant to the moment.

so during that one day period where Peet was holding their art contest the archive managed to snapshot peets tumblr as a normal webpage https://archive.fo/01gIx and I don't wanna screen shot the whole page since it will look ugly but here's whats relevant to what I'm driving toward
upload_2018-3-24_20-23-53.png

So peet actually has a bar for a ko-fi account and their patreon, the only thing unique about peet having any of those on tumblr is...

This is what peets page looks like when you type the url into any given browse
upload_2018-3-24_20-27-14.png
you can't view it unless logged in to tumblr, and it only ever shows up as this weird bar that takes up a 5th of the page, if I recall (correct me if I'm wrong) Peet uses this layout as some sort of nonsense anti-screencapping/harrassment technique . None of that is new or startling information, I just wanna point out that the text "Extrernal Image" is where the afforementioned Ko-Fi and Patreon links would have been, if the code formatting on tumblr didn't take shit up the links.

Peets active attempt to keep people from archiving their shit has made it so the people who want to support them can't easily access their patreon or ko-fi with out a google search.

also for anyone curious this is Peets most recent post

Lily, you dumbass, it's not that "Katara had him groveling at her feet begging to be spared and therefore revenge", it's actually "holy fuck I'm doing exactly what THEY were doing. This isn't satisfying, this isn't pleasant, this is hollow and disgusting!" Hell, they even emphasized this by the fact that Katara was using an art that she had outright sworn never to use before realizing "this is NOT me, this is NOT right, this is NOT worth it".

That's not HOW revenge looks like. That's cold mercy. Revenge is if she had done it, and taken his life away. Even a 10 year old would know that. That clip means how much she had learned, and little it's worth doing so. Ignoring key details doesn't validate your bullshit.

Nonononono, you guys OBVIOUSLY missed the Nuance™©® of that scene.

No, but really. The textbook definition of revenge is exacting punishment onto someone who wronged you. If Katara had killed Yon Rha, that would have been revenge. In fact, you could say that the entire episode was discouraging revenge, because you saw how it ate up Katara, how it turned her from the driven, studious girl to the relentless, cruel monster (for lack of a better term) that she became while hunting down the man who killed her mother. Aang warns her about revenge at the beginning...
Aang: Wait! Stop! I do understand. You're feeling unbelievable pain and rage. How do think I felt about the sandbenders when they stole Appa? How do you think I felt about the Fire Nation when I found out what happened to my people?
Zuko: She needs this, Aang. This is about getting closure and justice.
Aang: I don't think so. I think it's about getting revenge.
Katara: Fine, maybe it is! Maybe that's what I need! Maybe that's what he deserves!
Aang: Katara, you sound like Jet.
Katara: It's not the same! Jet attacked the innocent. This man, he's a monster.
Sokka: Katara, she was my mother, too, but I think Aang might be right.
Katara: Then you didn't love her the way I did!
Sokka: Katara!
Aang: The monks used to say that revenge is like a two-headed rat viper. While you watch your enemy go down, you're being poisoned yourself.
Zuko: That's cute, but this isn't air temple preschool. It's the real world.
Katara: Now that I know he's out there ... now that I know we can find him, I feel like I have no choice.
Aang: Katara, you do have a choice: forgiveness.
Zuko: That's the same as doing nothing!
Aang: No, it's not. It's easy to do nothing, but it's hard to forgive.
Katara: It's not just hard, it's impossible.
...and at the end, expresses his elation at hearing Katara didn't finish the job...
Aang: Katara? Are you okay?
Katara: I'm doing fine.
Aang: Zuko told me what you did. Or what you didn't do, I guess. I'm proud of you.
Katara: I wanted to do it. I wanted to take out all my anger at him, but I couldn't. I don't know if it's because I'm too weak to do it or because I'm strong enough not to.
Aang: You did the right thing. Forgiveness is the first step you have to take to begin healing.
Katara: [Rises from boardwalk.] But I didn't forgive him. I'll never forgive him. [Smiles at Zuko and walks up to him.] But I am ready to forgive you.
The two hug and Katara begins walking away.
Zuko: You were right about what Katara needed. Violence wasn't the answer.
Aang: It never is.
Despite that, though, I guess I can see Jerry's point, from his perspective. Rather than killing him, Katara did the next worse thing, which was to make him grovel and cry and regret what he did to Katara's mother. Before that encounter, he didn't think twice or seem to have a shred of regret for killing her mother (it took him a minute to even remember), but after the encounter, it's likely going to be burnt into his memory (lol), and he'll have to live with what he did for the rest of his life, after seeing what could have happened. Psychological trauma, in exchange for psychological trauma. And I get that. I just don't think that's necessarily what the episode was going for.

Basically, I understand Jerry's point, even somewhat agree, but I don't think that's what was intended with the scene. People are taking issue with a perceived misinterpretation, which, honestly? Now that I think about it, it's just a different take on the story. It's still very disingenuous for a critic to mock the people making the counterpoint, instead of elaborating, which took me, like, 10-15 minutes, which is nothing for someone who can write loooooong paragraphs with made-up stories about why he thinks people hate him. I'm sure I've mentioned this before, how Jerry's outright hostile toward people making counterpoints, This makes a critic look bad. And it makes Jerry look worse.

To reiterate, Jerry, calling your critics "fucking idiots" isn't going to make them agree with you. If you want to be a good critic, then actually explain your point, in depth. That's what analysts do. And then you wonder why people don't like you or think you're polarizing or pretentious. It's for shit like this.

With that said, Jerry could have chosen a much better example from the same show, in the same season, which likely wouldn't have garnered as much alleged backlash:
"The Puppetmaster".

The Bloodbending episode. When the old woman from the Water Tribe who was forced to live in the Fire Nation, Hama, started abducting people from the Fire Nation village she lived in. She was taking revenge against the Fire Nation in her own skewed way. I could go into depth but this post is already long as it is.

But knowing the fact that Jerry seems to be a very hard objectivist with his morality (i.e. everything is black and white for him, which is why if someone says they're a conservative or some form of right-wing, then they're automatically a fucking racist), then that would be a very hard example for him to play, because it's someone on the "good" side doing something morally reprehensible. I genuinely don't think Jerry can stomach the possibility that someone "good" is capable of doing something "bad" (or vice versa). Refer to his ridiculous "if a woman doesn't like feminism, that doesn't make feminism look bad, that makes that woman an idiot" argument.

EDIT
and just so I’m not misunderstood, what I mean by that is, that if a woman decides to criticize feminism, according to Jerry, there are no good reasons for it. She’s only doing it because she’s a self-hating sexist.

Been busy all day, but I finally got the screenshot uploaded. Here's the link if anyone else wants to send it Josh's way. https://imagebin.ca/v/3w3hmFQ9qXQq

I find it both weird and oddly uplifting that a thread dedicated to mocking Peet is becoming a rally point for his victim. I suppose you've done something right when you have internet trolls sincerely rooting for you.

If the Toon incident revealed anything, it's that Josh and co will swallow a whale before confronting sh*tbags. It's probably going to be a while before Peet gets any pushback on this.

We're not the only ones. 8chan has voiced their support as well. Hell, even GAMERGHAZI told Peet he was a twat.

Edit: GamerGhazi shit talking Peet:

So... has anyone actually tried talking to Josh about any of this stuff here, or is all this just "thoughts and prayers" positive-energy you guys are talking about? Because I don't get the feeling he reads any of this...

I'm a bit late to the party, but I was on pretty damn good talking terms with Josh until recently. I can confirm he doesn't keep up with Kiwifarms. I can also confirm, however, he typically disregards any advice and tries to do things his way. Unless his friends are breathing down his neck and wanting him to do something another way.

So, RIP.

He recently lost Alex as a friend, and many more will follow. He's gonna be pushed to listen for other choices. So his way won't cut it anymore. Either he destroys peet's credibility, or he loses all the hard work he has accomplished from these years.

That's not me being a a-log. That's me saying the clear consequences of this entire autistic screech from Peet.

Hate to say it but...

I don't normally suggest this kind of thing, but... Maybe we should send the screenshots to people he works with? Inkrose might also be interested in this, seeing as how Peet went after her as well.

I just don't want to see Josh go down like this. Not when it could have been prevented.

I’d also suggest putting the links and screenshots on twitter and @ing him. Just to make sure he really sees it.

Given the absolutely absurd requests of his friends during this whole ToonKritic situation, I can absolutely see why he'd be so quick to discard their concerns. He also grew his channel all by himself and has a pretty loyal fanbase that he tries to keep in check.

:offtopic:, but before the Peet response video, Josh did 3 other response videos to other people’s stuff. He stopped doing that after 3 videos when some of his fans started sending hate mail and death threats to the people he responded to.

If I recall, they were directed at Master of Foxes (she hated the fact that he didn’t like Okami), Bhallspawn of all people (s/he hated TF2 and made a poor review of it), and FireAndFlames17 (and his pretty bad countdown list, he’s the only one I knew of before his response video).

Edit: Garmmar and speeling

I..honestly don't know how to feel about this. On one hand I'm glad I was quoted to prove a point against the brony cultist here. On the other seems many peet detractors do visit the farms. Especially these guys that cover most of this ongoing war.

I'm not sure, if this is :offtopic:. But it is something worth sharing about.

Ah, the E4B, Jerry's own Sons of Kojima.

This isn't the first time we were directly quoted (putting aside the numerous times a certain user of Derpibooru copy/pasted us just to get a point across, prompting them to join here, which led to a shitstorm in and of itself). The fact that quite a few people liked to quote us or make responses to us (btw guys, almost a year since Kaboom!) is part of the reason why I worked under the impression that Josh browsed the farms (other reason is because he linked to this website in his other Jerry response).

I like to think we are gathering more allies with each fuck up Peet commits. And the fact I was quoted in a good way makes it clear his bullshit hasn't been ignored, nor it will be allowed to remain without consequence.

Jerry's already fairly well-disliked in the community, something he tends to boast about since all bronies are responsible for harassing Pinkiepony four years ago, and not too many bronies agree with his shit opinions, which is why he reacts with hostility whenever this is brought up.

The only issue is that most people who tend to act on that dislike (e4b, a chunk of derpibooru, most people making videos on Jerry) turn out to be massive spergs. Doesn't really reflect well on us tbh.
