Carousel is a minor human character. She's one of Lily's closest friends, second only to Gardevoir. In 2019 she became Lily's second girlfriend. She works as a Certification Officer for the Pokemon League.

So, I'm not gonna jump to conclusions and assume a break up happened. that said, carousel runs one of the more popular ask blogs on tumblr, and networks with a very large crowd of artists that lily was likely connected to through them. If this is a break up, lily is likely getting locked out of yet another community and will have a whole new set of people to bitch about in coming weeks.

I won’t say anything as true until we know but with what we know a breakup would suck for Carousel. Lily spent ages talking about Carousel went out of her way to take care of her after everything she says happened to her so the fact that they broke up right when Carousel was visiting and it being a disaster in Lily’s words can’t bode well for her and it’s interesting to think about what might have happened.
Considering that as was pointed out, Mikaila seems to be the priority girlfriend, maybe Lily started to show that and Carousel got tired of it or Lily even made her leave because she wouldn’t go along with whatever they were doing. Who knows? Can’t be good considering the comic shows us exactly how unhealthy Lily’s relationships are.

They probably didn't prepare well enough, Carousel had to Funnily enough she was supposed to visit for 4 months and left after 2 weeks. And I've seen nothing on her blog about it.
