Jesus, if I didn't know what a caricature this lady is I would assume that had to be satire.
So basically what she actually did was panic because she's getting older, but realized she's too insecure and self-obsessed to have any kind of functional relationship where she wasn't entirely in control or her partner ever disagreed with her.
Therefore she found some sniveling momma's boy who's younger than her who she could push around so nobody can tell her she's going to die alone surrounded by nothing but cats. Except of course that's going to happen anyways because the guy is most likely gay and she'll continue to be an uptight bitch. She strikes me as one of those nuts who probably secretly fantasizes about rape constantly too.
And anyways, what the fuck is she complaining about? Marriages exist more to protect women than anything else. Rings aren't intended to show ownership, they're intended to show dedication and that a man is willing to invest in a given woman.
I think we should all start making a big deal out of how women shouldn't consume rat poison. All the normal chicks will go "yes, obviously, don't patronize us" while these contrarian idiots scream "Nice try, patriarchy!" and down an entire box.

That's not how canaries work.
Nothing wrong with the woman being older in certain situations, but this seems a textbook case of what you're talking about. She also doesn't seem the type of person to even like cats.
Not just that. It's meant to be a form of protection too. Not just a "I can provide for my wife and family" but also a "In case of emergency, we can pawn this" but the latter meaning has mostly been lost nowadays.
