Realistically, if she’s leaving Montreal, she’s leaving an island and it’s a pain the ass to walk out of Montreal. Specifically walking out, this is assuming she doesn’t have money for the Metro. There’s a handful of exits but going across the Jacques Cartier or the Champlain bridge is the most likely route. Going North or West is just much more difficult if you’re walking as the city is too dense.

You’re going to end up in the Eastern Townships. It’s really easy to get lost out there, there’s forests that stretch for miles interspersed with dense swamplands and lots of bodies of waters. If she’s been walking for a couple of days without much of a route I’d say that’s exactly where she is.

A while back there was a local music scene guy who also “dropped his girlfriend off at an intersection” in a not-great part of town, then went to a hippie music festival and got trashed for the weekend. Dude claimed up down and sideways that he dropped her off exactly where she asked him to, when he last saw her she was fine etc.
