Meet Jim Humble (pictured below). He's a former Scientologist, the founder and arch bishop of the Genesis II Church, and a billion year old god from the Andromeda galaxy.

Jim has come to the attention of the media as he claims to have a miracle potion called MMS (Master Mineral Solution) that can cure any disease. He claims that he discovered it in the jungles of South Africa. But what is this miracle potion you may ask? It's a solution of chlorine dioxide. Chlorine dioxide is essentially industrial bleach. It's a strong oxidizing agent and very toxic to all forms of life.

Jim encourages the members of his church to consume the solution of chlorine dioxide as he claims it's a holy sacrament. Recently it came out that a group of his church's members are trying to cure their children's autism with chlorine dioxide.

Jim has also written several books advocating for the use of MMS that are available at http://jhbooks.org/

Unsurprisingly the FDA doesn't like the idea of people selling bleach as a cure all. Jim made a video asking for support as a seller of MMS was on trial for distributing this cure all.

Another video where Jim addresses FDA intervention and claims that he cured 800 cases of HIV in Africa.

Jim is interviewed about his life and MMS

An article calling out Jim's bullshit.

When they start poisoning children with it I have a problem.

Dumbasses who buy shit and drink it without anything resembling research is one thing. Dumbasses who do it to their children is another thing entirely.

Also, i would hope that at least most of us here hear the words "miracle cure" and go "bullshit". Please Kiwis, tell me you're smart enough for that...

My mother actually bought into this and was following his protocol for awhile. I shit you not. It's the only reason I know of this guy. I tried as hard as I could to tell her it's a bunch of bullshit, and she wouldn't believe me. "It's not bleach! You are misinformed!" I can't remember why she quit using his protocol, but I'm glad she did. I was worried for awhile. However, she still buys into other quacks and uses their potentially dangerous protocols.

For a bit of background:

My mother was involved in the mental health system for decades. She found no relief and disliked the side effects, so she started seeing integrative medicine doctors (they promote a combination of traditional and holistic treatments.) She's been into holistic health ever since (several years now) and has believed many weird theories, including that she had chronic lyme which caused her mental health issues and that she has mercury poisoning (she even got her amalgams removed) which was passed on to me and my half sister, and believes the mercury caused my half sister's autism (for awhile it was parasites). She thinks that psychiatry is funded entirely by big phrama, and that doctors are not entirely informed due to a lack of time and how "complicated" the body and brain is. She has not seen a traditional practitioner since she gave one a fraudulent test conducted by a woo doctor, had the test dismissed and was referred to the mental health department. She also has a profound hatred for the FDA.

She bounces from "doctor" to "doctor" and woo theory to woo theory. If one protocol doesn't help, she finds another. Alternative medicine practitioners could be a thread all on it's own. I know of plenty thanks to my mom trying to convert me.

Alternative medicine is fucking scary, and it's followers won't trust any evidence that doesn't support their position. It's amazing what people will believe when traditional doctors don't give them the hope they desire.

I'll keep tabs on this thread. Jim Humble is not the only guy who promotes MMS. Believe it or not, there are other advocates.

I have no idea WTF is going on in this one.

Oh, he's preforming his bag protocol.

Notice how it specifies not to make yourself nauseous. *sigh*
