The fundamental problem of health care, no matter what system you're in, is that people want:
You either pay through the nose to get the best result, make compromises in the quality of care along the way, or run a slave state where you can force everyone to labor without compensation or the ability to choose their work.
- Care directed and administered by the most skilled, experienced, trained, and educated personnel, who spent years of expensive tuition and worked hellish hours for low pay for years when starting out, who will of course be liable for any highly expensive results of any mistakes they make
- Drugs from the bleeding edge of R&D, which have undergone rigorous trials for many years to ensure their safety (and of course many of these won't pan out), manufactured in the most modern sanitary facilities
- Diagnostic and treatment equipment again from the bleeding edge of R&D, manufactured to the finest degree of precision and reliability
- The highest-quality materials (and sometimes exotic materials) used in both the final product and process for the above, with the attendant difficulties of resource location, extraction, and processing
You either pay through the nose to get the best result, make compromises in the quality of care along the way, or run a slave state where you can force everyone to labor without compensation or the ability to choose their work.
