Jimmy Kimmel Live! aired a deceptively edited clip of VP Mike Pence carrying empty boxes to make him look bad - The late night host later tweeted out a non-apology by (unsurprisingly) mocking the Vice President and Trump’s administration

Jimmy Kimmel is still relevant?
That might have been Conan, who got his ass roasted for trying to virtue signal like a smug piece of shit in Haiti:

Oh what fun times those were watching Conan spend time in the white people's part of Haiti. He sure showed us common folk that Haiti has no flaws.

LMFAO NO HE STILL OUT OF TOUCH

Do Adam and Jimmy even talk to each other anymore?

I'm pretty sure they do, occasionally, but they don't talk politics. Or that's the impression I got back when I used to listen to Carolla's podcast regularly.

What money? Late night talk shows get less than a fifth of the viewership they did in 1992, back when comedy was considered "politically neutral" and not a weekly group cry over the president.

That was the good old days, Pepperidge Farm remember. :story:

Btw, here a clip from the good old days when Jay Leno received Donald Trump in 1999.

It was presented as real, to an audience who had no reason to believe it wasn't real, and who probably get most of their news from late-night "comedy" hosts like Kimmel and uncritically accept everything they present as true. Kimmel and the show crew knew exactly what they were doing.

Doesn't matter. It isn't a news show, it's pure "entertainment".

Too bad that there will be idiots who still rely on them for informative news like these idiots on Reddit:

Anyway, it still makes me wonder how do Jimmy Kimmel's videos still are mostly liked on YouTube.

The fact no one even called him out on the common sense notion of, "Getting your news from comedy shows isn't the smartest idea" is worrying.

Says a lot about 2020 America.

You've fallen into the media's trap if you seriously believe this. Conflating "entertainment" and "news" is what they want. The whole reason these shows operate the way they do is to be able to push a narrative using misleading or even blatantly false information, knowing the majority of their audience considers them valid news sources, then if they're ever called out on it they use the defense of "it's just comedy bro, you can't criticise it for being incorrect". Most people who watch the show will never hear about this being an edited clip, so they'll assume it's just the truth, and Kimmel can give a tiny non-apology on Twitter before the whole thing is forgotten a week later by everyone; eventually, for a large percentage of the people who saw this show, "Mike Pence fakes delivering PPE to hospitals" becomes fact.

Kimmels a hack on a leash by his hook nosed handlers in Hollywood. Just like every other hack in a suit on late night TV. Do what we say like a good little doggy and you'll get money and fame, if Kimmel and the rest of the shit recycled npcs had even a shred of integrity or dignity left they'd be mocking everybody including the idiots who got the details about the pictures wrong.
